Don't be fooled by the first episode, this show really finds its own niche in terms of family animated comedies. Bob is no Homer Simpson or Peter Griffin, he's more like Hank Hill, but willing to let his kids be themselves to a far greater extent than Hank. In fact, as far as animated fathers go, Bob is one of the better ones I've seen in years as he's both level-headed, resourceful, and loving. He tries to be a good role model and because of it his kids are incredibly happy despite their awkward tendencies. There's a lot of good dark humor to be found here too, but you have to really pay attention as it can be very subversive and may go over your head if you're not paying attention. The animation leaves a little to be desired, but it does make the show look unique, and it does have this charm to it that you don't see in a lot of shows these days. The first season is on Instant Netflix so if it's been popping up in your recommendations, I'd definitely say give it a go. |

^ Bob's Burgers is hilarious. I watched the entire first season in a few sittings, well worth watching. A lot of the humor is dark, I agree but it's done really well, so I enjoyed it. H. Jon Benjamin's voice is what makes those shows more funny, for me. He has a very good voice for comedy.

I'm somewhat surprised that I'm watching this but I'm really enjoying it. Mitchum is good in his deadpan way, the guy who plays Hitler is off-the-wall and there are some good cameos, though in general I'd rate the acting as fairly stiff. Still, set as it is against the backdrop of the outbreak of the Second World War, and running through the course of the war, it's highly interesting.

Moving onto Season 2 of Archer, the first season was funny as hell and I am hoping they made it just as funny in Season 2 if not funnier.
The whole first season is hilarious. I found myself having to go back and watch some episodes that I hadn't really liked the first time, and found myself enjoying them more now that I have a grasp of the humor I should be looking out for. |

I started watching it last weekend and I'm just about finished and by god does it ever top season 1. This is really becoming my new favorite animated tv show, at least until The Venture Bros. starts up again. |

That's good to hear. I watched the first episode yesterday and loved it. I about lost it when the girl walks by him and does the "blowjob" with the lollipop. It's those little things that you catch that make the show even funnier.
