This show is on HuluPlus, so I wonder if they'll be getting the new seasons a day after air. In either case I'm really happy the new season is about to start up because it very well may be the best thing I've found all year.
Anyhow here is what I started watching Samurai Champloo yesterday and I'm not quite sure what to think just yet. The action is well done, but the characters don't have much of a chemistry as of yet, but I am only 5 or 6 episodes in so maybe in time. The soundtrack is pretty cool, and the whole hip hop infused Japanese history is kind of interesting if a little gimmicky. I'm hoping things get better down the line, but if nothing else I will get a lot of cool combat scenes, and that's better than nothing. |

I'm watching it now (four episodes so far). I like the idea and general mood of the show. The melodrama is present but not overwhelming. But the symmetry between realities is already broken in episode four: no matching crime in one of the realities, and the clues that cross the realities seem random and pointless... I find myself wondering how the main idea gets developed in the remaining episodes and why the show was cancelled (it was, just after one season). I suspect the bar was set to high?.. But let me watch the rest. |

Sons of Anarchy.
Many friends recommended it to me but I was like "since everybody loves this, it must be crap". Shows what I know I love this series for a variety of reasons (though I only just finished season3 and I heard it's not that good later on) but the main one is music. It's mainly covers (or only covers) with immortal hits like "House of the Rising Sun", "Son of a Preacher man", "Gimme shelter" and "John the Revelator" in the best versions I've heard. I'd write more but you have to listen to it yourself. Yac. |
