binge watched most of the first season of Silicon Valley last night. it's exactly what I hoped for from a Mike Judge series starring TJ Miller. two funny dudes 4 sure.

I've been switching between rewatching Black Mirror and rewatching Gilmore Girls and I'm loving every second of each of them.

Same here brother. Loved everyone in it but Kirsten Dunst the most. Her character Peggy was so damn quirky she had me laughing over and over again.

"Hon, you gotta stop stabbing him."

Not that this says much about the quality of a series but the endless classic cars... good lord the cars... that more than anything else made it really hard for me to judge that season critically because my eyes were bulging from my skull every time a character drove down a street.

Chula Vista 04-24-2017 12:50 PM

.

Noticed that too. It was like a 52 telecaster, a 57 strat, and a 59 les paul all being flaunted at the same time.

Netflix added He-Man! Finally! (I somehow only just noticed this today) AND my Skeletor shirt I ordered will be arriving any day now, so the timing is perfect.

You do realize that's actually a terrible show with animation so bad that it defies gravity, right?

Yes, but I love it. Spectacularly bad 80s-90s cartoons (like the animated Star Trek series and Jem) are the perfect remedy for sudden bouts of 3 am depression and sleeplessness, after all.

Go watch Conan the Adventurer. I seem to remember that being on the cusp of brilliant and terrible, and was also a major part of my childhood. When I realized the main villains of Robert E. Howard Conan novels weren't shape shifting lizards I was kind of disappointed tbh. Also quite possibly the only children's cartoon to ever get an ending.

Nosedive is hilarious. I love it and have watched it so many times. Definitely one of my faves.

So I caught the first episode of the last season of The Leftovers and they are still pissing me off and annoying me. I am only sticking it out because the series is ending but I know the payoff isn't going to be worth it. ****ing Lost *******s. They should be banned from being able ytoo create future projects.

The Leftovers pissed me off about five episodes through. The premise was interesting but it looked to be going nowhere and the characters were not at all engaging, not to me anyway. I was quite surprised to see it got a second season. Did they leave it at that?

Superb show. Powered through all three seasons, season four started this week.

Chio, I'm going to once again suggest Tripping the Rift. Try it, I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

I remember watching tripping the rift when I was living at home and had to sneak to watch it on tv.

The leftovers made it to three seasons and this is the final one.

debaserr 04-25-2017 01:58 AM

Fargo season premiere was pretty good.

I thought last season was great too.

Yac 04-25-2017 03:49 AM

He-man ? Conan ?
bah!

Korgoth! Of Barbaria!
Seriously, see it, the full episode is on youtube... the only episode they made. It's epic.

pauldoon 04-25-2017 07:33 AM

Lethal Weapon (series), Prison Break, Blue Bloods, The Blacklist, The Originals, NCIS to name a few haha

djchameleon 04-25-2017 10:05 AM

I didn't expect to like the Lethal Weapon series as much as I did. It was very well done. I am curious about the Taken series and I have been keeping up with the Training Day series. Seems to be a pattern with producers lately.

Goofle 04-25-2017 01:03 PM

Started watching Riverdale and it's pretty decent. I'm hoping it takes a serious dark twist but I'm currently okay with the cornfest.

Edit: Episode 3 went full SJW but I'm gonna push my way through the struggles of these oppressed victims.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 04-25-2017 02:09 PM

if you like trashy teen dramas that are so bad they're good then it's for you. if that isn't your thing, stop ASAP.

Goofle 04-25-2017 02:10 PM

I don't mind it at all so far, just this particular episode has some OTT forced agenda pushing. But they worked it into the episode well enough.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 04-25-2017 02:14 PM

i just find the show to be incredibly silly and over the top in the way that most teen dramas (Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars come to mind) tend to be. I still enjoy it a lot though simply because it's easy to watch and constantly entertaining.

The Batlord 04-25-2017 02:17 PM

I'm gonna have to check it out.

Goofle 04-25-2017 02:20 PM

You would love it I guess. The good kinda cheese.

Thelonious Monkey 04-25-2017 02:56 PM

I watched 5 episodes of Pretty Little Liars, convincing myself along the way that my taste in stuff was trashy enough. But nope, not even close. That **** sucked so hard, like I swore I'd seen the same cliches happening over and over, and the characters are just so bland that I want them to all just die.

Akai 04-25-2017 03:57 PM

Binge watching 'Vikings' in order to catch up mid S5 atm.
On S3 now, real good, gritty and historical.

I love Star Trek. It tackles things like dying in such a unique and incredible way.

Chula Vista 04-25-2017 10:21 PM

JJ episode 11. The fight between Jessica, Trish, and Will in Jessica's apartment: Holy crap. Only surpassed by.....

JJ episode 12. The fight between Jessica and Luke. Holy crap.

It's a great show. Got a little confusing with the guy, the wanderer, who turned up and started just ****ing all the women? Seemed like some sort of a healer, there was some intimation he may have been a god? Came back on track very well though and I must admit I was surprised it continued after
Spoiler for just in case:
Ragnar died.
That was unexpected.

Btw, you know your entire post is bolded, don't you?

Trek evolved very well from the original series, where nobody died, or if they died they came back to life, to NexGen, where they kind of still did that but there began to be real shocks ("Lower Decks" blew me away with its ending) and then of course in DS9 all bets were off: basically 24 in space! Still, if you want to see a show that really deals with death in unexpected ways you should check out Babylon 5.

Watching 13 Reasons Why. Wasn't really catching me the first eight episodes, but episode nine really messed me up. Brought up some buried trauma for me. Most people I know don't like it but it's affecting me a lot personally. I'm also watching Attack On Titan S2 which a lot of people aren't liking as well but I'm always looking forward to it. Too bad it's only 12 episodes this season. Going to check out the new Prison Break once I get the time, although I'm not expecting anything good. Hopefully it surprises me.

Once in a while Herzog makes a great documentary. This was one of them.

Grizzly Man is another.

Heh^

Just 2 days ago went to the store and bought only Sour Gummy Worms.

I needed them for a trail run I was driving to.

I've heard enough of the story to not check it out. I don't want to ruin a good thing.
