Too bad you won't have time for any of that, because you'll be too busy reviving 'Love or Hate'

If only some other member had finally gotten around to reviewing an album you had recommended him...

He's a huge dick. But he's a great story teller, screenwriter, world-builder, and comedian.

Yup. I thought Community (at least for the first 3 seasons) was great as well.

Goofle 11-24-2016 05:39 PM

For you guys who like Black Mirror but have, for whatever reason, decided against watching The Wire, here's the man himself on why you should watch it, and more about the show.

The 4th season of Community was an unarguable wet fart. The 5th season was great through (once Dan was back) and the 6th season was a bit far out even for me, but still absolutely worth watching. Sixseasonsandamovieeeee!

Hmm, I stopped after season 4 but maybe I'll have to give the last two a go then.

If you're unaware, Sony fired Dan Harmon at the start of season 4. Season 4 received such horrible reception, both critically and from fans, that Sony re-hired Dan afterward for seasons 5 and 6. Which is completely unheard of--nobody had ever been brought back after that kind of firing before.

Yeah, I heard. The reason I stopped watching was mainly due to hearing that so many characters left the show.

Yeah, that happened. The new cast members that rotated through were actually pretty lovable though--surprisingly so, considering how hard it is to add or remove characters without ****ing with a cast's dynamic. It's not quite the same, but they held it together really well despite losing half their cast.

Well on that note I'll have to check it out.

Westworld should be at the top of your to be watched list. I'm guessing you haven't heard anything from the rabid fans of the show but it's well worth it. HBO is behind it. I'm also guessing you haven't even seen a trailer for the show either.

Just finished binging wrestlemania 12-17. Going to go back to music.

Frownland 11-25-2016 11:05 PM

Baskets with Zach Galifianakis is pretty great so far.

grindy 11-26-2016 01:47 AM

Just watched the first episode of Westworld. Fantastic stuff. Binge imminent.

djchameleon 11-26-2016 04:54 AM

I'm waiting til the first season is over which is soon. I rather binge when it is done than binge now and then have to wait a week for the new episode.

That's what I tend to do. Problems though in those ads ("last time on [insert series here]" or "coming up this week on ..") have to avoid all those. Also, space issues on my sky box. It is nice though to be thumbing through your recorded material and see a series all recorded and say "****! I forgot I had that taped!" Many hours later .... "When's the next season? Waaahhhh!"

But yeah; the old idea of having to wait a week for the next episode is really hard to go back to. Now if I could just get a bigger Sky box...

djchameleon 11-26-2016 07:28 AM

Does Sky not have an On Demand feature? You should be able to just go to HBO On Demand and get the episodes that way so you don't have to take up DVR space for it. Unless you have to pay extra for it.

I still can't decide if I like him or hate him... He made a pretty good impression in Birdman though which is what makes me question it.

Frownland 11-26-2016 10:14 AM

Have you seen Visioneers or his stand up?

Haven't see Visioneers. Watched a few stand up clips awhile back and it never made much of an impression on me.

They do, and it is free. Problem is, they don't always stay that way. They move them around, putting some up, taking some down. Like something Pines? Can't recall the full name. They have season two, but not season one. It's often like that, and the last thing you want is to be halfway through a show when they decide to kick it off on-demand leaving you high and dry. Also, not every series is on demand. Some of the stuff I watch is not let's say their "top pick" sort of thing, so you have to record it when you want it and keep it there till you watch it.

Use hola.org to get around those pesky regional restrictions.

I've seen every episode of Black Mirror and I can safely say that I want more.

I both do and do not want more Black Mirror. It's like people who love to have the **** scared out of them. I think I cried during 80% of episodes but I still want more.

My favorite episode would have to be...

Spoiler for episode spoiler:
the episode with the two girls in San Junipero. The end of that episode really made my jaw drop and made it completely worth it. It killed my heart more than a lot of the episodes, and a lot of them definitely killed my heart.

Frownland 11-27-2016 11:17 AM

San Junipero is definitely the best.

Paedantic Basterd 11-27-2016 11:18 AM

I loved that one, but my favourite is still Shut Up and Dance. That was a ****ing ride.

Spoiler for Spoils:
I thought the character was an idiot for the whole episode until the end when they made it clear he was looking at child porn. I thought he was just ashamed of wanking. Definitely the best as far their plots go, but it's lacking on the world-building.

Key 11-27-2016 11:45 AM

I have to agree with Frown on that one. The episode was alright and the story was convincing enough but overall it's nowhere near my favorite. I do love the episode when...

Spoiler for spoiler:
the girls boyfriend dies at the beginning and she discovers she can make an exact replica of him. Even though it's powered by a AI. Can you imagine what it'd be like if we could actually do that? Coping with someone's death would be so much easier.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 11-27-2016 11:53 AM

I loved all the episodes except for the first episode of season 3 with the rating system. The 3 you guys mentioned are definitely among the best though. I hear a lot of people **** on the first episode of the show, but I actually enjoyed that one quite a bit as well.

EDIT -
Spoiler for spoiler:
I love how they kept bringing that same song up in each season with a different character singing it.

Key 11-27-2016 11:54 AM

The one with the killer robotic bees is really good as well. I got so into it that I didn't even realize it was over an hour long.

Key 11-27-2016 12:02 PM

Different topic, but has anyone here watched Making A Murderer? I just finished that as well and I really enjoyed it. I'd also be curious to what people thought in regards to him being guilty or not.
