OK...I finally hopped on the Game of Thrones bandwagon to see what the big deal is. I'm only 4 episodes in and I will say, I'm digging it, but I feel a little bit underwhelmed on the whole. That might be because my expectations were way high with all the chatter. But, I'm definitely going to keep watching because I do like it, and because my mom swears the last episode of season one will make it all worth it.

Keep in mind it's an adaptation of the first book in a planned 7-book series, so a lot of it is about setting the scene and introducing the characters. The series really takes off in the second book and just keeps building more and more, creating these amazing intricate stories. The last few episodes of the TV series were great and I can almost guarantee that by the time you're done you will be pumped for the second season.

I've seen a couple episodes. I laughed a couple times. It's not great in my opinion but its something....

Aesop Rock and Rob Sonic sampled a line from it on Hail Mary Mallon, from Kneivel, right at the beginning.

"I got this hella bad dream, if you don't mind, that I want to fly a diesel truck, with trailers, and I want to jump that over at least 20 cars, 25 cars, right in that area"

I've been re-watching the original Johnny Quest series on DVD and loving the nostalgia, appreciating the jazz background music, appreciating the quality of the plot as compared to modern cartoons, etc. I'm enjoying it a lot more as an adult than I did as a kid.

Yes! Just finished watching it and loved it. Nice to see a little Philly cameo as well.

How did they differentiate post-apocalyptic Philly from actual Philly?

Mad Men - Season 3 Finale

One of THE best episodes of Television of all-time. It was insanely good. For a show that usually has a very slow narrative pace, this episode just hits you in the face. Thoroughly deserves it's 9.5 score on IMDB.

Just wait for season 4, it's my favorite season for any TV show.

On episode 3 now. Very good, best Mad Men series so far.

But nothing will ever match The Wire in my eyes, and Breaking Bad.
