Finished Punisher season 1 and holy **** was it fantastic. Jon Bernthal is an animal. That unhinged battle scream of his is one of the sickest things ever and makes me wish I could embrace my inner ape cause I will never be that hard. He also acted the part incredibly well but that's just a bonus. There were only a few times when the Punisher put on the skull vest, which was a bit disappointing, but whenever he did it was the most amazing thing ever. Episode 11 was one such occurrence and I had to rewind a few times after going "Oh ****, nigga!"
There's, like, more intelligent reasons to like the show but I'm too lazy for that **** and who cares when you can just watch Frank Castle annihilate a special forces squad? Oh and I went and ordered this cause it's been too long since I read the early issues. Monday will be a good day. Punisher Max Complete Collection Vol. 1

Man, I think I'm gonna have to be a dudebro and become a straightup Punisher fan. Been reading Greg Rucka's 2011 run on Punisher: War Journal and it's great. The Punisher doesn't say a single word in the first two issues and only three in the last two panels of issue three. He's racked up a paragraph since but its the cast of characters who come into contact with him who illustrate what kind of a terrifying presence is Frank Castle. He's often treated as more myth than man, and just look at how terrifying he is in the first issue.
Spoiler for big ass pics:
Honestly though as much fun as he is on a pure cool level I can actually find something to relate to on a personal level. I'm sure anyone who becomes the Punisher couldn't have been normal before no matter how much they loved their family. Sometimes I wonder what I might become if I found that mythical "The One" who made me want to be better than what I am. Or even just another good friend. Then I look at the Punisher and see how the aftermath of losing that person doesn't necessarily leave the maladjusted "better to have loved and lost". Sometimes the fallout from no longer having someone you cared about in your life can sink you deeper than you thought was possible into the pit you were already in. **** makes you want to hide in that putrid pit. I swear to god I'm not stockpiling weapons.

I've read a few issues and yeah it's cool. Morrison in general is amazing and doesn't sit on his laurels to just do the same thing over and over again.

The ongoing Doom Patrol is the only series that I'm actively keeping up with, even though it has a tendency to completely disappear for months at a time
Wondering how they're gonna one-up the last arc, where all of the different realities in existence were revealed to be television shows for gods that will destroy everything if they ever get bored
