i dont understand why peices of paper should be worth anything, but w/e

We went back there and they had come and hacked off every inoculated arm. There they were in a pile. A pile of little arms. And I remember... I... I... I cried. I wept like some grandmother. I wanted to tear my teeth out. I didn't know what I wanted to do. And I want to remember it. I never want to forget it. I never want to forget. And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that.

still i dont get it either about teh paper money no real value, now back when coins were made out of gold and silver that was real. besides ypu could cut them for less or more value

*gets to use what he has learned in economics*

Money a while ago was dependant on gold as its backing. A certain number of currency was a certain ammout of gold. Now the American Dollar is feat (spelling?) meaning it is independant of any backing. It is a standard instead of gold.

a dollar is worth something because we let it be worth something. it's more or less official.
same reason why a comic book might be worth something because it's official. anyone get a copy of the story especially with the internet.

ahem yes silver dollars and gold dollars paper currency...mmmhmmm you could trae it for gold..now think if we were in a post apocalyptic tate what would u want more? gold or silver, which almost anyone would take, or paper money which would be useless

I'm into X-men and JLA at the moment, I want to start reading Spiderman, but haven't really got the time.
