Just saw the trailer for the new Justice League Action cartoon. Looks like Batman: The Brave and the Bold, but with the focus spread evenly throughout the entire DCU. So it's The Brave and the Bold. Except it's got at least some of the old B:TAS/S:TAS/Justice League/JLU cast, including Kevin ****ing Conroy and Mark Hamill (and if you don't know who they're playing then go **** yourself). I'm moderately stoked, but considering how awesome The Brave and the Bold was, my stokedness could go up considerably.

Just watched the trailer for Luke Cage, and while I don't know if I'm sold, as he doesn't have the same story pedigree as Daredevil or Jessica Jones, it would be the first Netflix Marvel series based on a character being a superpowered badass (Jessica Jones was going out of her way to not be a superpowered badass). I imagine it will probably be the third best Netflix series, but considering their track record this could still be awesome.

I'm not gonna pretend that it's not at least a bit racist to have a black guy's trailer theme song be an ODB song, but it's pretty sweet to have ANY character's trailer theme song be an ODB song anyway. **** it. At least he's not wearing a tiara.

Holy ****, this **** is the truth. If you're into 80s X-Men this is bat**** awesomeness. Nightcrawler, Shadowcat, time-travelling daughter of Jean Grey and Cyclops from an alternate future, Captain Britain, and they're in England meeting the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland. It's gloriously absurd.

Just look at this cover.

That's the best.

I have a lot of old X-Men comics from around the Phoenix cycle (1970s). I should send them to you. They're just in a box in the closet.

Oh I already know. I'm also making it through Days of Future Past at the moment, continuing on from The Dark Phoenix Saga.

Holy **** damn. After reading Captain Britain in Excalibur I wanted to go check out Alan Moore's Captain Britain run, but found out that I was missing the first few issues. So to while away the time until I could download them I started on Moore's Miracleman.

How can anyone be such a genius? Within a few issues I'd realized where Neil Gaiman got the idea for Sandman. Alan Moore takes an old, obscure, disused character from the fifties and, while keeping the continuity intact, tears the character down 100 feet below his foundations to recreate him in a way that makes you feel like you've never read a superhero story before. Moore is simply the undisputed king of superhero deconstruction.

To anyone who digs Alan Moore this comic is for you, to all you who've read Watchmen but don't really **** with comics otherwise, this will knock your socks off just as hard. This is a STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND GO READ THIS **** RIGHT NOW recommendation.

I did not take the warning on the cover of this issue seriously. I just had to actually tap out.

Well played.

That good? I only know Alan Moore's mainstream stuff. (Killing joke, Watchmen, V For Vendetta). He's that good? Never even heard of miracle man.

Definitely. It's superhero deconstruction with nihilistic Jesus overtones and it is bat**** insane.
