I love how every time she becomes Thor, she's free from the pain of her cancer, but her Asgardian body automatically purges the chemo treatment, ultimately making the cancer even worse. It's like a ****ing Joy Division song.
|
As much as I like old Thor he never had nearly as compelling a personal story as "Yeah saving the world is literally killing me but apparently I'm teaching Spider-Man about sacrifice." I just hope that Natalie Portman's contract is over by the time Marvel ever decides to make a chick Thor movie.
|
But isn't the new transgender Thor ruining the comic book industry by shoving a liberal agenda down people's throats and over politicizing comic books which have never been political ever in comic book history especially Captain America?
Edit: Where do you read comics? I know you aren't buying all these. |
You can't over politicize anything. You can simply be a bad writer. The world needs more comic books that take a literal hammer to corporatism.

My friend says he likes Spidergwen but the rest of the 'diversity' comics are trash. He also said that they did a comic where all the new SJW heroes beat the **** out of the old heroes and that they keep going on feminist rants. And that comics like Squirrel Girl are the cause of declining comic book sales. Stupid **** like that. I need to get a compilation of the right wing borderline bigoted comic books that did the same **** like Spawn's communist propaganda, or that Batman that talked about the 'boys in leather' just to show him how full of **** he is.
|
If he likes Spider-Gwen then there's hope. I don't how you can dislike Squirrel Girl though.

Get him to read Thor: God of Thunder. Written by the same guy who writes chick Thor and leads directly into it. He won't even suspect what's coming and will be too invested to give it up when they pull the switcheroo.
|
I'm not sure if this a serious discussion or what prompted it to be so, but, as long as it isn't too ridiculous, I can see where the Diversity people are coming from.

In the real world the Punisher is the only superhero who matters, which is why in the comic book world he is kept separate. In the real world the only person who would ever be a superhero and not be some nerd with a taser or a cellphone with 911 set to dial would be a violent psychopath with special forces training living out of a van.
Superman can't exist and Batman has PG morals. ****in' Punisher, man. |
Everyone needs more Alan Scott.

Church. Been watching The Punisher and it is awesome. After I finish I think I'm gonna have to go reread Punisher MAX.
|
Please review more goofy Punisher stories
|
Which goofy one did I review? I guess I could go read those ones where the Punisher dies and gets resurrected as an angel.
|
He goes to the future and kills everyone
Or maybe it was the past Or maybe it was in space I can't remember |
Oh wait yeah Punisher 2099. That comic was amazing actually. Goofy 90s **** on the surface but legitimately great when you get over the ludicrous character designs and dinosaur parks. I absolutely think you'd love it. He builds a prison in his basement.

I think I'm gonna have to see about getting the whole series on eBay since there are no TPB's.

Now I have a new catch phrase.

"Wu-Tang. That's that next level ****." - Frank Castle

Finished Punisher season 1 and holy **** was it fantastic. Jon Bernthal is an animal. That unhinged battle scream of his is one of the sickest things ever and makes me wish I could embrace my inner ape cause I will never be that hard. He also acted the part incredibly well but that's just a bonus. There were only a few times when the Punisher put on the skull vest, which was a bit disappointing, but whenever he did it was the most amazing thing ever. Episode 11 was one such occurrence and I had to rewind a few times after going "Oh ****, nigga!"
There's, like, more intelligent reasons to like the show but I'm too lazy for that **** and who cares when you can just watch Frank Castle annihilate a special forces squad? Oh and I went and ordered this cause it's been too long since I read the early issues. Monday will be a good day. Punisher Max Complete Collection Vol. 1 |
Man, I think I'm gonna have to be a dudebro and become a straightup Punisher fan. Been reading Greg Rucka's 2011 run on Punisher: War Journal and it's great. The Punisher doesn't say a single word in the first two issues and only three in the last two panels of issue three. He's racked up a paragraph since but its the cast of characters who come into contact with him who illustrate what kind of a terrifying presence is Frank Castle. He's often treated as more myth than man, and just look at how terrifying he is in the first issue.
Spoiler for big ass pics:
Honestly though as much fun as he is on a pure cool level I can actually find something to relate to on a personal level. I'm sure anyone who becomes the Punisher couldn't have been normal before no matter how much they loved their family. Sometimes I wonder what I might become if I found that mythical "The One" who made me want to be better than what I am. Or even just another good friend. Then I look at the Punisher and see how the aftermath of losing that person doesn't necessarily leave the maladjusted "better to have loved and lost". Sometimes the fallout from no longer having someone you cared about in your life can sink you deeper than you thought was possible into the pit you were already in. **** makes you want to hide in that putrid pit. I swear to god I'm not stockpiling weapons. |
Just started reading Grant Morrison’s Doom Patrol run last week. Pretty cool stuff though I’m wondering if it will get a little repetitive after a while.
|
I've read a few issues and yeah it's cool. Morrison in general is amazing and doesn't sit on his laurels to just do the same thing over and over again.
|
The ongoing Doom Patrol is the only series that I'm actively keeping up with, even though it has a tendency to completely disappear for months at a time
Wondering how they're gonna one-up the last arc, where all of the different realities in existence were revealed to be television shows for gods that will destroy everything if they ever get bored |
