Not zombies at all.
For me, it's not about the speed at which they move, but more about the force behind their movement to begin with.
You can't contend with a supernatural re-animation. I mean... there's no damn virus to cure. At least in keeping with the original Night Of The Living Dead.
It didn't become about toxic waste or other natural factors until Romero mistakenly thought he could outdo himself.
I prefer the cause of re-animation to be a mystery. It's more intruiging that way.

true say 28 Days Later isn't a legit zombie movie
but the remake of Dawn of the Dead WAS and those zombies were speedy f*ckers.
Although the original is one of the few old skool zombie movies that has dated well, that remake made no sense, why dangle the promise of a re-vamped/scarier Romero trilogy in front of us only to snatch it away?
Can't remember the name of the fourth Romero zombie movie proper that came out a few years ago but it sucked the big one.
