Default The Warriors

Ok, well the warriors is a 70's b-movie that has a pretty substantial cult following. Additionally my band is named after it. Yet, I finally got around to seeing it....its rubbish, and the wrong kind of rubbish.

This is not Labyrinth; i.e. an example of awful done brilliantly, it is just boring and slow. My friend espouses typical fanboy rhetoric with, "you just don't get it", and I do get it, its meant to be bad....its just a boring bad.

Any thoughts on the film?

The Warriors is not the best movie ever or anything but I enjoyed it. It has a lot of good moments.

And Labyrinth "awful done brilliantly"? Say what? Labyrinth is brilliant done brilliantly.

The Warriors violence looks horrendously choreographed and it certainly does'nt hold up that well. The film's asthetic look and endlessly quotable dialogue however are a definite plus.

The Wanderers was around about the same time and was about gang culture. it's a much better film.

Even The Outsiders was better than The Warriors, but the video game was pretty good.

Well, yeah, The Outsiders was a great movie, not even really in the same league as a B-movie like The Warriors. And as an added bonus it has Tom Waits in it.

Can you dig it!!!!! The Warriors was supposed to be like a comic book on screen. I like it for what it is. I have heard rumors of a remake but who knows. The Baseball Furies scared the sh#t out of me when i was 5...Also I like the Joe Walsh song "In the City" that plays at the end and was also on the Eagles "Long Run" album.

Yeah, the video game was quite great.

When me and my buddy watched the movie, we were disappointed. It certainly wasn't as bad as the OP is suggesting, but there's just nothing in it that goes beyond being mediocre. The acting, the script, the music, the fights, etc... it's all just painfully average.

Shame, though, because the gimmicky gangs are neat and it could have been more.

God damn right Sleepy. I'd have sex with you if that weren't creepy.

This is, like, best movie ever. I forgot my other favorite for some reason.
