This

Southpark is so much better than Family Guy

Sodacake 10-17-2009 12:37 PM

This is so easy. South Park is funny and intelligent. Family Guy is neither of those things and The Simpsons hasn't been like that in years.

kouki 10-17-2009 12:48 PM

Damn, this is a goood question.I grew up with the simpsons and it will always hold a place in my heart lol,I still watch and love that show. But I chose family guy, south park was a very very very close second.

Boy, that's an original statement. ;)

Captain Awesome 10-18-2009 07:28 AM

I love both but i love south park more. It's true what they say about family guy all the jokes are interchangeable they don't effect the plot or help the narrative move forward at all and south park have a lot of subliminal stuff in there that a lot of people i know (who watch family guy) don't seem to understand.

Both awesome in their own way but if i had to choose it would be South Park.

As for the simpsons they pwn all. Simply because it's something i loved as a kid and has stood the test of time imo (although the movie sucked badly)

Damn right! Are you like my lost long brother or somethin? I feel like I agree with you on a lota sh*t. I think the best simpson episodes where like the mid years(hope that makes sense) I think it was between season 7 and 14,around there.

I feel that too, that's the only ones I watch. I was watching one of the new season episodes, I didn't even smile at any joke. And why did they change the opening song video ???

They did? Damn,it goes to show how much I watch the new episodes, haha. It seems like theyre trying to re invent their humor or somethin, kinda like they changed writers.I love the simpsons, but in all honesty I think they should retire.Or maybe take a break and come back with funny stuff.I cant believe I just said that *cries*:(

It did last TOO long ...

boo boo 10-18-2009 02:16 PM

The Simpsons just isn't the same, I don't think the new stuff is horrible by any means, it's just that after the show had achieved so much brilliance, it couldn't go anywhere but downhill.

Family Guy can still deliver the goods, but it's a lot more hit and miss than the early stuff, and when the new stuff bombs, it's REALLY unfunny.

South Park for me has the best track record of the three, it was hilarious then and it's hilarious now.

FETCHER. 10-18-2009 02:24 PM

I don't really watch the Simpson's anymore, but when i used to it was well good, now i find it okay. Not bad, but then I dont watch it often.
Family Guy for me was hilarious when it started, hilarious now.
South Park I found funny when I was in Primary School. I just really don't like it.

you understood south park jokes while in primary school? only reason i found south park funny while in primary school was because they swore a lot. There's no way i understood any of the jokes properly until i was 14+

FETCHER. 10-18-2009 02:58 PM

no i found it funny for the same reasons, but now that i do understand them, i just dont find them funny. i just find it pretty much annoying.

NumberNineDream 10-18-2009 03:01 PM

lol yeah ... I remember watching South Park everyday when I was 8 years old, I was just happy seeing Mr. Hanky the Christmas poo. Or when Kenny would die and Stan and Kyle would repeat each time "They killed Kenny! You Bastards!"... But then, in season 4 it just became deeper, and the jokes became somewhat witty ...

And it's still getting better and better ... you just have to compare between the first SP movie in 1999 and the second in 2008.

FETCHER. 10-18-2009 03:02 PM

yeah i agree, i might watch some episodes tonight, see how i feel :p:
ive never seen any of their movies. :(

whu?

NumberNineDream 10-18-2009 03:05 PM

^ Just watch Imaginationland, the Trilogy. It was three episodes made for the series, but then released on DVD like a movie.

Surell 10-18-2009 03:14 PM

I'd take 12 Oz. Mouse over both of em any day.

Yes but it isn't the second South Park Movie. It's 3 parts of an episode.

NumberNineDream 10-18-2009 03:49 PM

But still it was released as a movie somehow. At least they're calling it a movie on the cover of the DVD. It doesn't have to be on the big-screen to be considered a movie. It was more of a movie that was cut to 3 parts.

debaserr 10-18-2009 05:21 PM

south park is about 10x better than the other options. it has been pretty bad lately but it had like a 5+ year period where it was consistently outstanding.

Sodacake 10-18-2009 05:55 PM

The Simpsons had a 10 year period where it was simply outstanding.

The truth is that there is no clear and objective truth to be found, except the one stated here.

I hated that show.

Oh well, I'm just glad nobody brought up Drawn Together.

Have you seen the one about the Jonas Brothers and Mickey Mouse? Or the Kanye West/gay fish episode?

I think South Park is still just as funny as ever.

someonecompletelyrandom 10-19-2009 11:59 AM

I know it really is. And that old Simpsons cliche about "the new ones being no good" ended in 08 when the episodes started picking up steam again. Now it's a perfectly relevant version of the mid 90s show.

lu galasso 10-20-2009 10:53 AM

The Simpsons will NEVER be as good as it was from about Season 3 to Season 6. Those four years were nigh untouchable. But it has gotten better lately.

FETCHER. 10-20-2009 10:57 AM

i thought the simpsons movie was a total let down. i actually dont think i would watch it again. they had some good parts, but there wasnt enough for that movie, it should have been packed. i felt it dragged alot. :( am i the only one?

someonecompletelyrandom 10-20-2009 11:41 AM

I thought it was just like a really good episode. And it was cool to see it on the big screen since I'm such a Simpsons nut. It didn't really feel "movie-ish" but I don't mind that because what if it went the route of The Rugrats Movie? Believe me when I say I use this phrase sparingly but that was a total Jump The Shark moment.

FETCHER. 10-20-2009 11:47 AM

it was good, i just dont think it was as good as it should have been and i feel like there wouldnt be much point in watching it again, as its an average movie, i just expected sooo much more from it. Ive never heard that saying, what does it mean?

someonecompletelyrandom 10-20-2009 11:52 AM

There was an episode of a classic U.S television series called Happy Days where one of the main characters jumps over a shark on skies - something that was totally out of place and unrealistic compared to the rest of the series.

So it sort of means when a TV show, movie, book, whatever does something out of character and completly changes what the show was all about in the beginning.

FETCHER. 10-20-2009 11:56 AM

oh right, so the movie wasnt out of character. it was like one big long episode?

someonecompletelyrandom 10-20-2009 12:18 PM

Yeah, it retained all of the traits of the TV show without trying to introduce elements contrary to it's original intent. So like an hour long special or something.

Pretty much, as soon as they introduced Dill the show went steadily downhill.

lu galasso 10-21-2009 10:02 AM

I was actually pleasantly surprised by the Simpsons Movie. It may have been my exceptionally low expectations, but there you go. It worked for me.

definetly, i still watched it though, wither it was shit or not. :)

someonecompletelyrandom 10-21-2009 12:06 PM

I stopped watching after the second film. When the babies start controlling big mechanical dinosaurs I opted out ;)

FETCHER. 10-21-2009 12:12 PM

a second movie doesnt even come to mind, is that the one where they go to Paris, or is that the first movie?
