Nothing more douchey than gamers speaking in acronyms.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance
https://youtu.be/F1z6ubHowgA This game.. it feels like the love child of Witcher 3, Gothic and Skyrim. Open world, surprisingly good and deep story, told very well. Great graphics, great combat system, fun and robust character progression. The only issue I have with the game right now is that it's really full of bugs, though after the 25h or so I played it so far, it only crashed twice. So it's not as bad as it could have been. The game is set in Bohemia in 1403, if you know any history from that time and period, you'll love the references. It's also set in a real region, the towns/villages/castles you visit in game can be found on google maps. You don't get to create a character, just like in the Witcher, you get to play a specific person. Unlike the Witcher though, you're not a mutant killer all around tough guy, but the son of a blacksmith from a small village somewhere in the middle of nowhere. And even though the story quickly takes you away from there, you are still a peasant, and no matter how many bandits or Hungarians you kill (yup), it won't turn you into a noble. This is not an arcade game, where you can mash buttons to win combats and follow huge exclamation marks to fulfill quests. The game takes a significantly more realistic approach - you have to eat, sleep, wash (well, you don't HAVE to, but you should), take care of your equipment etc. Also did I mention there are no supernatural elements at all ? Zero, null ? That's very refreshing. Also if you played Witcher 3, you must remember the "getting drunk with fellow witchers' quest.. how hilarious it was. Well, KC tops that with a night out with a local priest One last thing I have to mention is that this game triggered some folks, apparently the game is racist for not including people of various ethnicities .. and the fact that it's set in 1403 a couple of dozen of miles from Prague.. well, that doesn't stop them from being offended. I have to protest, there are Bohemians, Germans, Hungarians, Poles (well, I hope, I've yet to meet one), one nasty duke of Luxembourg and many more. Anyway, the game is awesome and if you like rpg games, you should get it. But maybe .. wait a while. The game got a day one 23 GB patch on ps4 and it's being constantly patched, in a couple of months it should be relatively bug free |

Yeah, it's really expensive at the moment ( ~20% more expensive than most new
AAA pc titles here in Poland) .. I admit I might have.. found a copy but! I plan to buy one too, eventually. And with no demos etc, I feel morally justified In fact I have a handful of original games in unopened boxes, as I only got them when I completed them and felt no urge to come back just yet. |

I am so ****ing stoked about the Discovery Tour update for AC Origins.
Seriously, this is so awesome. I can choose to walk around as Caesar and sweep a villa floor like a commoner, or parkour up the side of the Alexandria lighthouse as Cleopatra. You can even run around as a child and jump off high cliffs and not die because you take no damage at all. I'm already a sucker for anything Ancient Egypt related, and I'm loving getting to learn about such a wide variety of topics... how they made bread and beer, for instance. What we know of their mummification process, theories on how the pyramids may have been built, the geography and history of the Nile, etc. Some people have complained about how Ubisoft censored some in-game statues (they placed seashells over female breasts and male crotches), but I actually don't fault Ubisoft tbh. They wanted to attain at least a T rating since they're also selling the Discovery Tour as a seperate thing entirely for use in classrooms, and if that's the sacrifice they had to make... eh. Not really a big deal. None of the actual, historical art (statues, paintings, mosaics) from museums that you can see when selecting 'more info' during a tour is censored, anyway. |
