first of all multiplayer or gtfo

second of all streamers like Fairlight Excalibur and xcalizorz are the only ones who can make offline gaming interesting enough for me to care

Multiplayer can be fun and all, but having another human in the game breaks any kind of immersion, so the atmosphere of playing multiplayer games can be kind of stale. I'd rather play Skyrim than WoW tbh.

Uhh, real players make the world feel more alive than a npc following some lines of code. :-/ You know some bigger MMOs have servers dedicated to RP?

Only single player roleplaying games I ever felt immersed in were those that punished/rewarded you for your decisions like Divinity. Subnautica was immersive for an entirely different set of reasons but im basing my argument around RPGs. It's mostly my own fault probably as i could give a **** about the lore and judge games entirely based on their mechanics unless im in a certain kind of mood.

Oh maybe you could just buy the game and play it yourself?

Seems legit.

No, they make you feel like you're dealing with something that has nothing to do with the game. If you're talking about a sports game then it really doesn't matter (LoL basically counts as a sports game tbh, which is a big reason I'm not bothered by a lack of immersion), but any game that has any real amount of story to it just ends up feeling like even more of a piece of fiction in comparison to the real people I'm interacting with.

Imagine you're the only person on earth and your only companions are robots that look and act like humans, but only about 90%. When you have nobody else to compare them to you're probably going to be much more willing and able to suspend your disbelief and deal with the robots as if they were people.

Now, same world, same robots, but now you have four friends with you. With real people to talk to, are you going to truly engage with the robots or are they just going to feel much more fake?

Some people just don't have the imagination to immerse themselves in a real video game.
