i'm kinda sketch of getting a laptop with a GTX 1050 but eh it's just a place holder until i finally get around to building my first desk top

oh also i tried getting over it with bennett foddy

it's just as hard as it looks, but it wasn't really all that fun for me. i didn't feel the need to keep pushing myself, and after 90 mins or so of progressing on and then having to restart, i just gave up on the game. ended up getting it refunded because i didn't feel like touching it again. pretty meh.

Building a PC is a good route if you're wanting to put the time and money into it. The PC I have has a gtx 960 so it's a bit dated but it does the job.

I've heard mixed things about PUBG but I don't play it so that doesn't mean much.

On a personal note, Dead Cells got an update and it's so so so good. This is one of those early access games that I am legit looking forward to.

I buy used gear off ebay. I picked up a Precision 7500 tower that has 12 cores 3.33 ghz Intel Xeon and 36 GB of Ram. Got it for 399 with no video card. I dont buy used video cards unless its been used by someone I know because people overclock them so I got a new EVGA gtx960. Whole thing cost just under $500 and it runs great. Plays Fallout 4 and Skyrim on High res with no issue.

Only drawback is that it weighs 70 pounds.

Nice thing about building a pc is it's modular nature.

Performance not cutting it anymore?

You can always add a new video card, SSD, monitor, etc. And then the big upgrades are motherboard / processor / memory because those three need to match up.

I recently got a 1050ti for PUBG, that was a very large improvement going from a 1gb 7850. Pretty much all my games are 60FPS+ with no noticeable stutter.

This is precisely right. You can always improve for more and begin to become a bit spoiled with the graphics you get. I guess one of the other things that hasn't been discussed is the duel monitor setup. I use 2 monitors for my pc setup and I could never go back to one. The amount of extra space on your desktop is mind blowing. Buying good monitors is an extra thing you'd have to buy, but God damn it makes a difference. I love playing games and having a video on the other screen. It's super relaxing sometimes and almost therapeutic.

yeah i definitely wanted the ti over the straight 1050, seems like a fairly big frame rate improvement especially when running more demanding titles.

but alas im poor

I have a gtx 660 in my rig - it was a monster... 7 years ago (had a gtx 580 initially). And the funny thing is - most games will not only run on it, they'll actually run well, provided you don't mind making a compromise or two ;)
The new Assasins Creed and Wolfenstein are the 2 titles I won't be able to enjoy on my prehistoric pc, but other than that ? Everything is perfectly playable.

that’s good to hear. i don’t mind playing on lower graphic settings whatsoever for better performance. my current computer suffers heavily from frame rate drops and just to limit them to the max i’ve even dropped graphic quality on games that run easily like LoL and ToL. more than any thing i’m happy to be getting away from console and mac and into the world of real PC gaming. beyond tired of seeing an awesome new title and finding out it’s a windows exclusive.

To be honest the performance increase of 1050 > 1050ti isn't that big.

I mainly got 4gb for the future proofing.
