Also a lot of these games are on the Wi and DS, there are some on the PSP/360/PS3 but according to owners of those systems they "FAIL lulz".

Basically I love that the better Wii and DS games emphasis art style and color over the technical mumbo jumbo like shadow textering or making the flesh sag or stupid sh*t like that. I think the Wii's lack of advance graphics is one of it's greatest attributes, because it encourages the developers to actually make games that are visually impressive beyond just having simulations of real life physics.

To me it's not the technical stuff that makes graphics good, it's the art, imagination and execution. This is why I still find the graphics in some 8 bit and 16 bit games to be way more pleasing to the eye than the standard shooter for the 360.

i've said it before and i'll say it again, aside from someone teasing you to get an incredibly predictable rise out of you, no one is dissing the wii or DS. the person who seems to have the biggest issue with nintendo's hardware being different than its competition is you.

O rly? Anti Nintendo fanboy rants makes up about 40% of the internets content by this point.

as for agreeing / disagreeing, i've rarely disagreed with you when it comes to games. i just get incredibly fed up with your seeming inability to take another perspective into consideration that doesn't cut the consoles and the industry along black and white generalizations.
I understand the appeal of these games, I just don't like it. And I think a lot of these "hardcore" gamers are encouraging conformity rather than innovaton. That's why they target the Wii and DS for not having any of their beloved turd brown shooters.

there's a whole lot of good for all consoles, but that doesn't mean there isn't any bad for your favourite console either.
Hey I don't deny that the Wii has it's faults. Nor do I deny the 360 it's attributes, I actually want one.

Not the PS3 though, it has no attributes.

as for mario / zelda vs. sonic / mega man. you're off the mark in your reasoning. mario and zelda never changed hardware that's why they still sell like mad. you get a new nintendo machine you can be guaranteed you'll see a mario or zelda game that makes that new machine shine like nothing else - by the same company that made the hardware. sonic has been handled by 3rd party developpers for at least a decade now. mega man had the challenge of going from a relatively unique position with nintendo to being forced to stand out in the crowd when it switched to sony. the mechanics for MM didn't change more than the ones for Mario, in fact they changed less (unless there's a 3d megaman i'm oblivious to).
There was a 3D Mega Man called Mega Man Legends, it's a game people either loved or hated.

Anyway I'm not talking about sales, Sonic and Mega Man games still continue to break sales records, I'm talking about the decline in quality.

I think Sonics 3D games have been on a steady decline starting with Sonic Heroes, I hear Unleashed is decent and it's pretty sad that when there actually is a decent 3D Sonic game people consider it a pleasant surprise, what happened? This was once a franchise where anything less than a perfect 10 was considered a failure.

I think one of the reasons for the series decline is that none of the original creators of Sonic are involved with the games anymore, and Sega should let more companies develop the games instead of Sonic Team. The excellent GBA and DS games were all made by another company, Dimps.

As for Mega Man, you're clearly only talking about the main series, and not all the ridiculous spinoffs. I think the big decline of the franchise started with Mega Man X6. Seriously, have you taken a good look at what they have been doing to Mega Man lately?

Oh yeah, I forget, blu ray DVD player, that's kinda cool I guess.

Now, if only they could get an actual gaming console in there, then I might reconsider.

I have shown you time and time again that the PS3 has many quality exclusives, yet you still resort to that old 2006 argument that the PS3 is an Xbox 360 with no good games.

You know what was a better console than the PS3?

If you can't tell by now, I'm obviously trolling you.

What the hell? I've never even heard of that console. I guess it wasn't very big in Europe.

It was Atari's hilarious attempt at outdoing the SNES and Genesis and it was marketed as being the first 64 bit console, which was a load of bullsh*t.

Here's a nice little retrospective on it from the nerd.

Yeah, apparrently the CD add on is so crappy that not even the guy who invented the Nintoaster (a fully functioning NES made out of a toaster) and Super Gentari (an Atari 2600, NES, Genesis and Super Nintendo all rolled into one) can get it to work.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! !!!

I FINALLY DID IT!!! I FINALLY GOT AN N64 EMULATOR TO WORK.

I'm so excited, took me a while to get the control setup I wanted but it was worth it, I'm playing some good ol' Star Fox 64. :thumb:

I was a PS2 fanatic, hated first xbox, but I agree Jaguar owns PS3...who the hell would want to install every effing game on a console before playing it????? Just kills the fun right there. I'm not saying it doesn't have good games...just not enough of them for me to buy it.

But back to the point of this post, I just beat the single player on Halo O.D.S.T, was short but I liked the story a lot. Also played Wet recently...that just pissed me off all the time. I play the hell out of Skate 2 when I have nothing better to do tho

boo boo 09-30-2009 03:18 PM

About Halo 3 O.D.S.T. Those are the most pretentious freaking ads I've ever seen.

They're even more overblown than Apple's 1984 ad.
