both have been on a downwards trajectory for the last handful of years though, at least Call of Duty tried to do some different things though. I got tired of Halo after Reach, and every game since has just be so bleeeeh. especially since Destiny was released, it pretty much filled the void that Halo had left behind plus the added benefit of MMORPG-esque grinding and loot.

i'm far more of a multiplayer gamer than singleplayer, and i tend to usually enjoy fast-paced games that rely on reflexes over strategic games.


in unrelated news i played Throne of Lies last night for the first time in a little while and picked up a MM win in my first game and a BD win in my second. if you haven't picked this game up yet just ****ing do it. it's $9.99 and it will run on a potato. so much fun.

Playing Timesplitters 1 in split screen or taking turns attempting to clear the single player challenges. I spend a lot of time with that way back when the game was new. 2 was good as well and the level designer was pretty fun to goof around with. Played a lot of split screen vs in home made stages in that game.

Timesplitters 3 just wasn't as fun and didn't do enough new. It would be cool if a new Timesplitters game could somehow retain the feel of the first couple games but also do something interesting to modernize it or expand the gameplay.

The Halo games aren't so nostalgic to me since I've mainly played them after I got an Xbox 360 back in 2014 or so.

I did play a bit of Halo waaaay back when I owned the original Xbox, but I never really liked that machine back then and considered it a failed purchase. I had this all new console standing under my TV, but I just played my Playstation 2 like I used to. I kind of re-discovered Halo on the 360.

I'm curious about what's happened to the main Halo story past 3 as I never bothered, but I'd honestly rather just watch playthroughs. I just want to find Let's Players who aren't tedious dudebros like The Rad Brad.

i'm not a huge campaign guy but it definitely had it's ups and down. by the time 5 came around i didn't even bother with it. i think i'm in the minority for really liking reach. so at the very worst case you missed out on one instalment you might've enjoyed.

Honestly I just want to see what happened to Cortana. That ending cutscene from Halo Whatevs I saw def tugged at a heartstring.

tbh playing games on console are so unrewarding when you cant flame your teammates in text chat or type "gg ez" afterwards
