but it was $10 - new your examples all sold for $60+ new. cash grabs. as for 20 year old games. they didn't candy coat everything to appease the generation of kids who've had everything spoonfed to them (nevermind that you can't write using a pen by the end of highschool, we can't fail you because it might be detrimental to your self-esteem, hope you don't get a job that requires you to ever write anything someone else might have to read). unlimited continues was rarely heard of and just getting extra continues was something you unlocked using a cheat code, that you had to find in a magazine - IF you got lucky. the idea that they couldn't / didn't pack a game with content 20 years ago is absurd. all the art assets might not have been pre-rendered high def images and the cutscenes might have looked like comic book panels instead of hollywood staffed CGI scenes but the actual game content was most definitely there - in spades. |

Sure, a lot of the kids online are like that, but you can always mute them or kick them. After a while you start meeting people you do enjoy playing with, and get this, you can add them (without friend codes) and then only play with them if you wanted to. I really wish you'd get another console and just try some new games, i guarantee you'll find plenty to like. |

I'm not saying they couldn't pack content, I'm just saying that because of the technical limitations, very few of them take more than an hour to beat on a speed run (that is if you're a pro), aside from the RPGs and a big part of that was because of all the backtracking involved. I do have to say though, while I like hard games, I like that games now have unlimited continues, I mean the lack of continues that some old games had was just freaking ridiculous. But when people diss the plumber and the man in green, it just reeks of fanboy desperation. Quote:

I'm glad Nintendo haven't jumped on the bandwagon and only selectively choose which games to take online. I'm glad the new Super Mario Bros. isn't going to be online. If you really want to play it with your friends, then you'll all have to get your Wiimote and cart yourself down your friends house and make some memories that don't involve a wireless connection. |

You could argue that Halo has.
Zelda has been pretty much the same since ocarina. Yes, how you travel is different, the visuals are different. But the progression follows a formula that is almost exactly the same every time, do i still love it? yes! Is it totally predictable? yes! I'm not even going to argue with your multiplayer comment. I think your part of the same group you dislike so much |

So if i wanna enjoy NSMB with a friend who lives in a different country, tough ****? You guys are painting online gamers as being antisocial freaks, it's dope to be able to play with friends i can't see regularly. |

I was an online gamer myself. I enjoyed it very much. A lot of my friends still are. I'm saying that some games don't need an online feature, they'll force people to play the game in a social environment. Let's face it, if two friends have super mario bros wii and a Wifi connection, they arent going to travel to each others houses to play it. But if the function isn't included, it'll force people to play socially. Which I think can only be a good thing for certain types of games.
However, in the case of some games such as FPS', I think an online feature is now almost necessary because split-screen is an incredibly awkward and frustrating way to play. |

You could argue that, but then you'd be a dumbass.

Unlike Bungie who just re-release the same game but with added content. Quote:
