Well like I said, EA poured a lot of money into the development of that engine that it is kind of their signature engine, like how people associate Valve games with the Source engine, or the Cry engine with Far Cry and Crysis. To be fair, I think the jump from engines for Mass Effect was the right idea, especially for a generation that really only exists for graphical fidelity, but that kind of decision has to be made early on in the game's development.

I'm playing a mixture of Tomb Raider 3 & Race Driver Grid on PC, and Star Wars Episode 3 on PS2. Lol

Still got my PS2 plugged in too. And my PsOne. I've got both on, so I don't need to change memory cards often.

OMG.

THAT'S WHY IT'S CALLED CRYSIS WITH A "Y"?!

That is so unbelievably lame.

No lamer than Crytek saying they're not going to make real video games any more, just some free to play **** or whatever.

Nothing wrong with that! Been playing PS2 with component cables and it changed my life. Started playing a lot of old games recently.

Have you played 3 with all the DLC, especially Citadel ? I only got to do it recently and by God, it changes so much. It actually makes ME3 feel like a proper ending and I have to say, my romance with Jack turned out a lot better and more mature than I had thought it would.

The game, the whole trilogy, feels like it's neutered without the Citadel dlc. Like they put an essential part of the story, where all the characters get to shine, where quests and conversations are witcher 3 lvl emotionally involving .. they put it in a DLC.
I've a friend ranting about ME all the time (well, often enough, she's a huge fan) and she's been saying "get Citdel, I won't spoil anything, but in the name of all that's holy, get Citadel" for years.. I didn't listen, and I had to apologize afterwards.
Get Citadel. It is that good.

Then there comes the question: why support games that aren't complete without paid-for DLC? We shouldn't have to buy DLC on top of base price to experience the story.

The game's biggest problem isn't even the unsatisfying ending

The pacing is garbage with hacking and probing removed, there's no memorable missions, no memorable new characters

Contrast with ME2 where I still remember everything it feels like

Thankfully the combat is still really good but the melee thing was meh
Whoa. You liked the probing from ME2? That was the single worst part about any of those games. The ending to 3 was unsatisfying and leaves a bad taste in your mouth, but it was just at the end. Not present throughout the entire game, like half-hidden dog turds in your backyard that you periodically step in so that you have to frantically wipe the tedium from your shoe. I honestly find it hard to play through that game now simply because every time you get a new upgrade that needs some element you don't have it feels like the teacher just announced a pop quiz and you never even bothered reading the chapter.

I don't remember much about the ME2 probing minigame because my brain was leaking out of my ear while I was doing it.
