Dead Cells has become the game I play when I can't find anything else to play. I've put nearly 30 hours into it already and it's only in early access. It's exceptionally good in its current built. Your best bet for when your not in the mood for anything is to play a roguelike ala Binding of Isaac or Dead Cells or Crypt of the Necrodancer. The randomization makes it worthwhile because it not only fixes your need to play a game, it's different every time. That's what I do when I'm in a bit of a gaming rut.

At some point I'm going to have fire up the old 360 and finish my last Mass Effect game in ME2 and move onto 3. I've finished those games in sequence so many times it's embarrassing.

Not a big fan of jrpg's either but with them I'm mostly in for the cheesy story on top of a sense of adventure.
WRPG's are obviously much better at being, well, rpg's. And they're usually too open ended so I'm not into that. I like more focused stuff where the designers can really design around your abilities and the pacing/difficulty curve is more carefully predetermined. |
