Regardless of how good it is, that is the most video game name for a video game ever.

finally got around to playing Layers of Fear. Ki was right, it's pretty solid. it definitely gets a little repetitive and monotonous as you progress through it, but for the most part it's enjoyable.

I watched a playthrough of that game, and while it looked really cool, I'm glad I didn't pay money for a walking simulator I'd only play once.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Wii U) Before you say anything, I felt it was fair to mention that the reason I picked up the Wii U version is because I didn't really want to shell out a lot of cash to get the Switch, plus...I really haven't given my Wii U as much attention as it deserves, so I felt this was a great way to get back into that system. Onto the review. So, Breath of the Wild is possibly one of maybe 2 games that I have been looking forward to for a very long time. I've loved nearly every single Zelda game that has come out, with Wind Waker being my top favorite. Now, Breath of the Wild has pushed its way up to being my number one Zelda game, and also my favorite game of all time. And that includes pretty much any other game I have mentioned as my favorite. What makes Breath of the Wild so great? Well, I'll just tell you that it'd be a lot easier and tons and tons smaller to mention the things that are wrong with it. I've only really come into one issue which has been pretty consistent with everyone that has reviewed it, and that is the FPS drops. Unfortunately, when you get in an area that has a lot of particle effects say with fire or water, the game does slow down a little bit. But honestly, it's not an enormous issue when the game is as good as it is. I've seen multiple websites giving this game a perfect score, and by god it deserves it. The amount of attention to detail, the amount of things you can do, the amount of times I've gotten sidetracked while simultaneously already being sidetracked by something else before being sidetracked again is ****ing unbelievably amazing. I've been basically no-lifing this game since it came out, and I've barely made a dent into what this game has to offer. Right from the get go, you are pushed to explore the humongous and beautiful world of Hyrule that has been bestowed upon you. People have said that the game doesn't hold your hand, and it definitely doesn't. You start off in a small cave, but once you're out, you're pretty much let loose and you can do whatever you want. And I don't mean the cliche "do what you want in this order" type deal. I mean...legitimately, you are allowed to do whatever the **** you want, go wherever you want to go, and climb whatever you want to climb. There are literally no boundaries to which places you can step on, which places you can walk into, etc etc. Graphically the game is ****ing beautiful. The minute you set foot out into the field, you are struck with a sense of "holy ****" when you look out into the world that you are about to explore. As you move around the huge field laid out for you, you really start to feel immersed into the world, and you see things happen before you that take you by surprise, in a good way. You also glance at many mountaintops, and rock formations and think to yourself "yeah, I want to climb that", and you proceed to do so. You can pretty much look at anything you want to climb, and you can climb it. I've spent a good 10+ hours in the game already and I'm just getting started. The hype for this game was real, and everybody was expecting amazingness especially with it coming out from Nintendo. And you know what? They ****ing delivered. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is not only the best Zelda game that Nintendo has released, it's also one of the best games that any company has released in quite some time. Not only is this going to get people to respect Nintendo again, but this will also make people realize that they don't **** around. The very fact that (given a few small issues at pre-release) the game started with little to no issues is a big plus. Since devs like Bethesda can't seem to release a game in it's best form upon release. I know a lot of people have been waiting for this and I'm happy to say that this game is perfect. Everything about it. One more thing I feel is worth mentioning. If you're a big time Zelda fan and you're worried that the game won't live up to the standard that you personally have for it, throw those worries out the window. Any big time Zelda fan will come to love and respect the amount of detailed lore that is thrown at you when you least expect it, and if you know your ****, you'll see it. The other positive it has going for it, is that you really don't have to be a big fan to enjoy the game as much as everyone else is. You can go in completely clueless and the game will deliver. I highly suggest going through the game without any spoilers or guides, because 50% of the enjoyment is finding things on your own, and figuring out everything and exploring. Don't let other people do the exploring for you. You've seen people giving this game a perfect score, and now I'm formally giving this game a solid 10/10 rating. Pick this **** up asap. It's beautiful. |

It's been a long time I was excited about exploring a game as Breath of the Wild.
It's a huge achievement in design synthesis. It takes so many elements from other games and even past Zeldas.

I haven't touched it on my tv yet. I mostly play Breath of the Wild handheld style on the Switch but I think it holds up very well in this format. I haven't experienced fps drops or anything yet. I love that you can go fight the end boss if you wanted to at the beginning of the game.
