Anyone planning to pick up World of Final Fantasy? I don't have a console to play it, but the "stacking" system seems like a refreshing addition to turnstyle RPGs, plus the built in fast forward option.

I saw a gift card for that and I was like WTF is it? Never heard of it. I am only getting FF 15 when it comes out. I don't need another MMO on top of WoW.

Bought Resident Evil: Revelations 2 for 77 cents on Steam last night, cause I heard the Revelations series was actually pretty good. Unfortunately the PC port is wonky and has framerate issues at times no matter how low you put the settings (and I'm not the only one with these issues, so it's not just my low spec computer). Wasn't the survival horror game I was hoping for anyway, though it seemed like a solid mix of modern and old school RE. And it was only 77 cents so **** it. Then I figured **** that **** and installed F.E.A.R. since I heard it was excellent. I knew it was supposed to be an FPS horror game but I wasn't expecting it to be so FPS that I would actually be fighting squads of human beings in military uniforms, even if they are clones. I've been promised actual scary **** to make me poop my pants, and the combat is surprisingly good due to some badass enemy AI (****s on COD), so I'm gonna pick the game back up tonight when the sun goes down and hope for the best. Hopefully the FPS doesn't outweigh the horror as I've been burnt out on those games for years.

Anyone else somewhat underwhelmed with the new Civilization game?
I like the new approach to city building, research etc. I like the graphics. Having said that.. holy hell. No balance. Completely random and broken AI at times. TONS of bugs. "theological combat" and religion that comes down to basically, at some point, getting constantly spammed with missionaries. And then there are some things one wouldn't think too much about but when they're gone, it's horrible. What am I talking about ? THE FREAKING BUILDING QUEUE IS GONE. I mean wtf. Batlord - how's FEAR now that you probably gave it some more time ? I remember I loved it a lot, but mostly for the great gunplay mechanics - there are some horror moments but not nearly enough to make it less a fps and more a horror game Still, as a shooter I loved it. |

Just reminded me that I needed to mention Star Wars: Empire at War to you. Don't know if you've played it but it's like an RTS with a bit of turn-based Civ-style going on. And it's pretty ****ing sweet.

My wife is very particular about the games she plays, and only immerses herself in a handful (we both played Borderlands together, which was great). One of those few games was Skyrim, so of course she nearly lost it when she heard about the remaster coming out.
Gotta say...it looks pretty good. The more realistic looking foliage is almost worth it by itself considering a lot of your time is spent outdoors. And the fast loading times...oh my, yes. I even caved and made a new character for myself. I'm currently a few hours into Mass Effect 3 and after marathoning through 1 and 2, it's nice to have a break.
