Refunct Batty told me to look at this game in plug, and god damn it's beautiful. It's only 3 bucks on Steam, and even if it were 7 or 8, I'd probably buy it. It's meant to be played if you don't know what else to play and you want a relaxing experience. The music on top of the breathtakingly beautiful graphics and simple mechanics make this an incredible purchase. Very glad to have picked this up. |

Dino Crisis
God damn it. I was trying to record this for a Let's Play but the recording was choppy to the point of being unusable. I've altered some settings on my recording software and will try again tomorrow night, but I don't have high hopes that it'll work. Which really pisses me off cause I've been looking for a horror game for a Let's Play that would give you all some hilarious footage of my freaking out, and this ****ing delivered. You all missed out on my wide-eyed looks of terror, nervous babbling, and even one instance of what I can only describe as cursing in tongues. Dino Crisis is basically a PS1 Resident Evil clone, but with dinosaurs, and I feel confident in saying that velociraptors are far scarier than zombies. Even 30 minutes after stopping the game I could still feel the adrenaline rush. So if you dig survival horror, dinosaurs, tank controls, and Resident Evil then you should really play the **** out of this game. I know I will, even if I can't get the recording to actually work.

Do you have a N64 Emulator? If so you should get Turok and play that.

If you haven't already, you should try Dino Crisis 2. It's more of a run and gun action game than a survival horror, but it's still easily one of the most fun games on the PSX. The pre-rendered backgrounds still look great (now that I think about it, it's kind of funny that Capcom gave the survival horror first game 3D backgrounds, and gave the action packed sequel pre-rendered ones. Can't help but feel like they got it backwards. )

Not all of them, but yeah, there are a few raptors that can follow you through doors. Have fun finding out which ones.

Man, that first raptor had me shaking, and I stood my ground, used most of my bullets, and probably lost most of my health, but I didn't have to worry about him anymore. I now figure I should have just run, but now I gotta worry that he's gonna follow me through the gates of dinosaur hell? **** that ****.

I've had the Mass Effect trilogy for ages, but would always stop midway through the first one (mostly because of the god damn Mako). I finally plowed through that one and am now about 40 hours into Mass Effect 2...wow, what a better game.
Maybe some spoilers below? Even the first one had a great story system...this is the only game where I ended up regretting some of my choices. I wanted my guy to be slightly traumatized from his experience on akuze where he was the only survivor of a thresher maw attack - this also meant I was very distrustful of Cerberus in ME2 since they were behind it. Anyway, I also wanted my guy to be very open with all alien races, so I berated Ashley for being a racist bitch and spent the whole game trying to convince people humans were alright. Well, it came down to saving the council or not and I felt like the damn Reaper was more important, so I let them die. The irony of trying to not be a racist only to be accused of being the most racist ass hole ever in ME2 stung a bit. That's the first time that ever happened to me in a game. Anyway, I love this stuff and I'm sure I'll be chomping at the bit for Andromeda once I wrap up the trilogy.
