The latest humble bundle includes a game called Spec Ops: the line. For 1$. If you want to take part in a story based on the Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad, if you're tired of stupid games, if you don't mind getting emotionally battered by a game and if you don't mind feeling bad years after you've finished it (like me), go for it.
The game starts like a regular silly shooter but soon gets very dark and bizarre. I don't think I've ever seen descent into madness presented so well, in both video games and movies. Also, it has an amazing soundtrack - Jimi Hendrix, Alice In Chains, Deep Purple, Mogwai - among others. Seriously go get it. Go. Get. It. |

Evolve Since the recent update and with it now being named "Evolve Stage 2", there's actually a good amount of people playing this game which allows me to finally get into some games and see what this game is all about. If you're unfamiliar with the updates or this game in general, basically the developers recently made the game free to play. Before that update, the game was either bought on Steam or in a store, and the community of it wasn't that big, which made for long waiting times in a queue just to get into a game. I just got into 3 separate games and let me tell you, pick up this game. It's quite good. You basically play as 1 of 4 hunters and you're basically doing just that, you're hunting. One player plays as a monster, so you have a group of 5 players, and 1 of them is the monster trying to get to a stage 3 monster and the end goal is for the monster to take out the hunters and destroy the relay, from what I gather. It was a bit confusing during my first game, but the next couple were much easier to understand once I got the grasp for the game. So in basic terms, play as your class, kill the monster by any means necessary. My overall opinion is that the game is really good, so much that I may even play it for a few hours tonight. I really hope that the choice to put this in free to play will get more players into this game, because with a bigger community, this game could really be something special. Especially since the developers of Dead by Daylight have pretty much given up on it now that they've made their money, so this one is definitely a promising one. I'm happy to see that it could be promising, because upon it's release a while back, nobody really attached to it. Now, it seems like they will. |

My bro bought Borderlands 2 recently. I had no interest in it at first, but suddenly I was roaring up to play it. I started it two days ago. I'm not very far, but I freakin' love it!

It's like Fallout if the gunplay was actually as good as the rest of the game.

This game's been intriguing me since it came out and I really have no idea why. Could be the glowing reviews, regardless it's downloading to my Playstation as we speak and I'm pretty stoked to get into it. I had to go to three different Gamestops to get a used copy which was a bitch and a half, but here we are.

Downwell Damn, this game came on sale and I've had it on my wishlist for quite some time. Had I known how much fun the game is, I would've bought it at full price a long time ago. Downwell is downward scrolling, falling type game with roguelike elements. You go from level to level, and you pick up upgrades along the way. The graphics aren't exactly to the style that I love love, but my god, I would be lying if I said the game wasn't fun. I'm enjoying the heck out of this. |

Layers of Fear Holy ****, talk about a great purchase. I'm a huge fan of horror games as people know by now. And if you don't, I did an entire month on it in my gaming journal. Basically, Layers of Fear is up there with being one of my favorites, and I've only gotten about 45 minutes into it. It's a psychological horror game, so it doesn't rely on jump scares, or monsters running at you or whatever. Instead, it uses a constantly changing environment inside of a creepy mansion while at the same time, things move in the environment like windows closing shut really quick as you look outside, or whatever. It's done really well. You also hear stormy weather outside, alone with the fact that it's night time, so it just adds to the creepy factor. My god, I'm loving this game. |
