It's been awhile but i remember passing Zelda 2 but not the 1st one. Zelda 1 it's all about exploration which is fine if you know where the key items are but if you don't you'll be spending alot of time burning trees and bombing rocks to find dem hidden stairways.
The 2nd one is more linear but more challenging, the enemies are alot tougher and you have to grind a bit to get through them. both games are cryptic as f*ck and Nintendo knew this that's why most kids that passed the game did it with the help of the Nintendo power magazines. Imo it is possible to pass the games without a walkthrough but it's gonna take alot of guessing and trial & error, i think the best way to pass the games is to use a walkthrough to find some key items and pass the rest through trial & error. Even back in the days before the internet gamers completed this game through Nintendo power or by sharing the secrets they found cause the games are too cryptic to figure out on your own.

It's a little bit easier playing them now that most of us know the Zelda formula but playing it back when the 1st one was released was confusing as hell, still.. the lack of guidelines is kinda what made Zelda great. Games nowadays are better designed with all them tutorials and all but back then programmers didn't underestimate the players, they kinda overestimated them.
i think i got stuck in the 8th dungeon..

I've been playing this odd game called Recettear where you're a shop owner rather than an adventurer and have to employ someone to gather items for you to sell at your shop. It's a simple formula but, it can easily go wrong when your rent is due and you didn't make enough money.
Crypt of the Necrodancer. If anyone hasn't played this game it's really, really fun. Challenging but, addictive. Even after I rage quit I go to play for another hour later. Higanbana. If anyone is familiar with visual novels it's from the same guy that made Higurashi and Umineko (which I recently finished) but, Higanbana is a lot more disturbing and almost hard to read. I like messed up things. That's about it for now. |

Finally got my Black Friday PS4 and got 5 games with it. CoD Black Ops 3, MGS Ground Zeroes, Witcher 3, Shadow of Mordor and Alien.
**** knows how long it's going to take me to play all that.

Well playing Witcher and MGS at the moment, but Alien should be up after MGS.
£320 plus I traded in a whole load of stuff that I had to the value of around £60. So only paid about £260 but most of the games are second hand which makes no odds to me as I usually only ever play trade-ins anyway.

MGS I only bought because I'm a MGS nut despite the constant silly storylines that have plagued the series over the years. General opinion is that V is full of too many cinematic sequences which is something that has always dominated MGS games anyway, but this time around from what I've read they're even more dominant at the cost of gameplay than they've ever been before.
