I don't think they're particularly well designed games or very funny. It took them 4 games before they jettisoned the mandatory arcade sequences and the random deaths and it was pretty clear Al Lowe did not want to work on the series anymore after the way he ended Leisure Suit Larry 3. Honestly the only Sierra games I kind of like are the ones they didn't run into the ground with 6+ sequels.

Since we're talking adventure games here these days, a 20th anniversary edition of the first Gabriel Knight game came out last year.
Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers I haven't played this version myself, but the original was an entertaining voodoo mystery.

Spoiler for Massive quote by Orphiel bitching about New Vegas:
1. Good, the random encounters made no sense at times. 2. The assassin teams really live up to their name. On my last playthough, I didn't piss off any faction until I had companions and I was sure I could take them on. 3. That switch ammo button can go **** itself. 4. You only run into cazadores in the "wild" areas. They suck if you play with a melee character, but you just bring copious amounts of anti-poison and you should be fine. 11. Dead Money is solid. The bomb collar and the poison gas suck major dick, though if they took them out of the game it sharply cuts the play time. The bomb collar/poison gas are fine on their own, but together they are just ****. Also, the setting and art design are fan-****ing tastic. How spooky is the place when you first get there and you see this massive-ass building looming in the distance? Also, don't you dare bring up the "games were so hard in the glorious years of yore" bull**** argument. If you want to go play Zelda 2, Silver Surfer, and Castlevania 2, be my guest. None of those games are well made. Come at me. 17. Amen for your statement about equipment being extremely expensive being an improvement. As far as the reapirs, on my last playthrough, I almost didn't get the jury rigging perk because I discovered the alternative method of using weapon repair kits, and those are glorious. As far as armor degrading, most of my encounters are very short so that wasn't much of an issue. 18. I disagree. I played through the game three times with all the DLC without playing in hardcore mode before deciding to play with it on during my last playthrough. It's not that much of difference, it just requires a ton more strategy with what equipment you carry. 19. Spoiler for If you only use one save file:

I currently have three flavors of "Fuck you!" to choose from. Take your pick: Orange, Spearmint, and Cherry |

It mostly just sounds tedious to me. Having to remember to eat, drink, and sleep properliy? **** that. I have enough trouble with those in real life.

Personally NV to me was not a game worth my extra effort to pass it in hardcore difficulty. few games are.
