I've been interested in this one, far more so than Assassin's Creed Unity and I was quite happy when Ubisoft said you wouldn't need that game to play it. I've heard it's like a 2.5D version of Mark of the Ninja which I quite enjoyed, and it actually gives you a chance to be an assassin rather than an attention grabbing murder machine.
I'd still prefer a full 3D game set in Feudal Japan though, I think it would be an excellent time period to mine for history, and be a way to show off bright vibrant colours with the new generation of consoles. |

Go back and play it on an emulator. That game is all kinds of amazing.

You know what? **** it. If I don't stop myself here, i'm just going to keep going forever. That's how much ammunition I have against this ****ing horrible game. Saints Row 2 wasn't perfect, but at least it managed to move past it's "GTA clone" roots and have a personality of it's own. It had it's own style of humor and it's own cast of characters, without feeling the need to overcompensate by throwing sex jokes at the player every five seconds, as if to say "OH MY GOD, YOU'RE NAKED, ISN'T THAT FUNNY? LOLOLOLOLOL. OH LOOK, A FLOPPY ***** YOU CAN HIT PEOPLE WITH, ISN'T THAT FUNNY? LOLOLOLOL. Buy all of the DLC." And you know what? Everyone, including the developers, knew that Saints Row had lost it's soul. There's a reason why Saints Row 3 sold much worse than Saints Row 2, and why fans consistently rate it as the worst game in the series (right alongside the first game). That's why the fourth game basically backpedaled and reversed everything in three, giving the fans what they want by bringing back Gat, and the old-school version of Shaundi, as well as toning down the in-your-face humor (even though it's probably the most absurd game to date, in terms of premise) and actually having some wit and wordplay every now and then.

i've read articles saying they apparently don't want to do Japan because Ninja Assassins would be too clichéd. i would be happier with a full 3D game with Shao Jun as the main character (either set prior to Embers or between Embers and Chronicles: China) |

That game had me dying laughing pretty much the whole time, so clearly this is a case of personal taste in humor and not quality. Quote:

What I miss is not having to tediously buy each version of each garment separately (which was introduced in 2). The first game's closet system was by far the best. Quote:

The third just upped the ante, as I expected it would given the change in tone in 2. Quote:

Don't have a computer I can play games on, but I highly doubt you're going to put me off a game that lets me be a crimelord superhero.

Ive never played the crew but i have SR 2 & 3 and they're both great.
Im glad SR has taken the overpowered silly route, that's what makes it a fun alternative to Gta that takes itself very seriously. i have Gta 5 too and it's f*ckin great, especially now that they added heists but SR doesn't need that cause it makes up for it in sheer outrageousness. SR2 was still trying to be a GTA4 clone although it did enough to set apart the SR franchise as something different. SR2 is all the fun of Gta3 & 4 condensed but SR 3 is a totally different game and you know it from the 1st mission.
