The concept is easy, getting through it hard. Grinding is boring as hell and with your average FF game, there is about 40 hours worth of it. I only grind when absolutely necessary because I enjoy the strategy aspect of the bosses...technically, you should be able to beat most bosses without being insanely leveled, you just have to use the right strategy. That's why I love FF games. I can't stand it when I have to sit and grind for 2 hours.

Pussies. I'm a grinding master. I wasn't kidding about the grinding for days thing. I do that. Days in a single area. And then I go and **** on a boss with one or two attacks. If you're not as OCD as I am, then try weed. Grinding while high is hypnotic.

Weed is the only way I ever get through grinding, so way ahead of you there.

I'm sure I can handle FFVI, it's just a matter of working up the will to grind enough to fight Kefka. Got any tips for facing him?

Everything else is pretty manageable at the moment...I really would love to finally beat FFIX because it's a great game but for some reason I've never made it to the end. FFVIII just confuses the hell out of me what with the damn junctioning thing.

For me, I beat Lady Yunalesca just with sheer brute force. But I also made sure I kept my defense up and had a constant flow of healing in play. Bare in mind that I fought her several, several years ago but I am sure that if you put up a heavy offense/defense tactic, you will win. I sort of do heavy grinding in every Final Fantasy, it's a bit of a habit. I know her mega death is pretty annoying though...

Kefka was one of those bosses that I just kept my defensive high. I tried to let my party fall below a certain amount of HP throughout the fight. It's good to grind and level your characters as much as you can, that will help as far as giving yourself a stronger defense. Some bosses are more about taking it slow as apposed to flying out the gate with guns blazing.

I recommend making heavy use of Viva in Final Fantasy 9. He's a pretty valuable character. I never encountered anything really that challenging in that game though. Probably because of my grinding habit.

Haha, the junction system in FF8 confuses you? Man. That thing can be your secret weapon if you know how to utilize it correctly. You can boost defense, attack power, magic defense, infuse your attack with magic effects, it's a blessing man. There's several ways to build your characters with the junction system that gives you huge advantages over most bosses or enemy encounters in general. Certain magic will grant you magic defense bonuses almost to the point of being immune, absorbing too. You need to toy around with it, you'll gradually find out ways to make it work for you.

@ The Batlord

Come at me, bro. I bet I am more of a grind master than you are.

i like grinding too which is why ive never had much problems passing FF games.
The main bosses on the storyline on FF are not usually very hard their side quest bosses though could be very hard if you don't know what you're doing.

I think I got stuck in that giant tree...can't remember what boss I was fighting, though. I'm sure I can beat it, I just...stopped playing. I'll pick it up again eventually.

Keep in mind this was the one FF I avoided for years. I don't even know why, I just never played it. I got it off the PS network a few months ago and couldn't really "get in the zone" with it. By that I mean, most of these games suck me in to the point where I don't mind grinding if I can further the story...FFVIII hasn't gotten me there yet. So I really never gave it a shot, I got to the point where I can explore the overworld a bit and then stopped playing. I just remember thinking the junction system is way different than any of the other games.

it is different but you get used to it and becomes a great way to customize your character's stats..

i don't remember well but there is small island in the game with a couple of draw points with really powerful magic.

Same with FF6 there is small forest on an island where there are dinosaur monsters that give out alot of exp so you can easily grind up to LvL 99.

Let's see...

The Omega Weapon in FF8 in the last dungeon where you go to fight Ultimecia is harder than any boss in the entire game. But even fighting him, I didn't really struggle. I owned that mofo.

The two islands I went to draw magic from the highest level enemies in FF8 was The Island Closest To Hell, and The Island Closest To Heaven.

Don't know about grinding for days, but in pokemon I evolve my starter pokemon in the first patch of grass before I even see another trainer. 16 levels for some of the starters.

Anyway, the problem with final fantasy is that if your attack isn't effective against that type of enemy, it does 1 damage. FREAKING 1. I'm not asking for it to even be half as effective, but if cecil is a level 23 dark knight and he attacks a level 6 zombie, I expect him to kill it regardless that it's dark vs. undead. You're honestly telling me he's incapable of killing it? That's fan-****ing tastic. What the hell am I supposed to do with Cecil? Just have him in perpetual guard?? Also love how running away makes you lose money. This game is a trollfest.

This post had me laughing. I really don't know why. Just did. Maybe because I know what you mean?

My brain is a treasure for Final Fantasy addicts like myself. I have a vast amount of knowledge and know how for every game.
