Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords

Probably my 100th+ play through of this game and it still holds it's glory. The game is obviously dated and has a few bugs here and there (I got it from Steam), but overall, it's still a lot of fun. Doing a dark side character at the moment, and am currently working on bringing Handmaiden and Atton toward the dark side with me. I know you can turn both of them into jedi as well, i've done it.

Kotor 2 ... as much as I loved the story, characters and the setting - the level design ... Back in the day we sat down with some friends to talk about this and we all realized that there were multiple places in the game where the level design was artificially making the game longer. No straight corridors, quests forcing you to run from one side of the map to the other constantly etc.
I tried playing it again a couple months ago but I couldn't get the game to work :(
Edit: don't get me wrong though, I loved both kotors despite their flaws.

Lately I've been playing something called Duels of Champions - an online card game set in the Might and Magic universe. And it's surprisingly fun and a lot more polished and well thought out than I was expecting from a "spinoff" title. The free 2 play model is quite cool, it takes some time to get new cards (win 3 single player campaign duels or ~10 pvp duels to get enough money for a 12 card booster pack) but the game matches you with opponents at your level and I haven't met a clearly overpowered deck yet. If you want to spend several hundred dollars on a card game though, you can - and there's a special format for you to play the game with other like minded folks, you won't be meeting those cheap players like myself that want to squeeze every last drop of free content they can before they spend any money ;)
As for the gameplay, without posting an essay on what does what, it looks like what would come out if Magic the gathering and the tactical battles of heroes of might and magic had a baby. And the baby wasn't a radioactive mutant as one might assume but actually a very clever thing. The easy to learn, hard to master type. Fun fun fun.
Here are some images, they're quite big thus the spoiler tag. If anyone wants to start, I'll include a ref link at the end of the post :P It should grant you some extra cards/gold, and give me some minor gold bonuses

If you enjoyed the first one, you'd have a blast with the second one. The second one offers a lot more control over how your party reacts to you and it adds the influence factor so you can either make them hate you or make them follow you to whichever side you choose for that character. I did the research as well and they say that every character you have (besides the droids im assuming) can be turned into a jedi, so there's that factor to try to work with as well. It's a lot of fun.

I think they counter that with the "burst of speed" power, though it doesn't do a whole lot at lower levels. Not sure if you knew this, but on the Telos mission when you first start, there are terminals that you can "teleport" through to make that part of the game go a lot quicker. When I figured that out, I was so excited. However, I do agree from thinking back on it that there is a huge amount of running around from A to B and then back again, but I love them anyway, as you do.

I've heard about that, and will be stoked whenever I find a random copy. Now that I think about it, I actually did play about ten minutes of my friend's version of the game. One thing that bugs me about that and the first game is that the prologue missions are too damn long.

Still, the loading times for KOTOR 2 on the Xbox sucked hard and made playing the game just insufferably boring at times. I imagine the version on steam is considerably better with the loading times.

I just wish they had finished KOTOR 2 and not rushed to release it. Also wish Bioware was the developer.

Couldn't be any worse than Mass Effect 2 or Elder Scrolls.

fixed.

That makes the loading times in KOTOR 2 look like nothing.

Yeah, I did hate those things. The one on the Normandy was the worst though. At least the other elevators, like the ones in the Citadel, looked cool, and your squad mates said things to pass the time, but the one in the Normandy was just so dull and slow moving.

i agree but don't you think it also kinda adds to the realism of the environment?

i mean if we're gonna edit every little boring thing we find in games we'll probably f*ck up the structure of it cause we just want to skip to the action.

I bet you alot of ppl just plowed through Mass effect just to bang a hot alien and i bet you those ppl didn't appreciate the scenery or the ambience the game creates.

in that specific case you're in the elevator of your ship but imagine they didn't have that feature and instead they had a convenient tele-transportator you could use to go to any room directly.
that would take you directly to your objective but you would lose the exploration and the ambience of the game in the process

I almost want to say you've never played Mass Effect 1 before. If you've played them, you would know how bad the elevators are. Their meme-worthy, that's how bad they are.

And no, teleportation, while nice, is certainly not necessary when you could just make the elevators move at an acceptable speed–not even fast, just an acceptable speed.

i have, right now im playing the 2nd one and i honestly don't mind the elevator ride, it doesn't even take a minute.

the loading screen for ME2 though, that's a difference story.. that sh*t is annoying.

I like the loading screens from Fallout or GTA where they tell you details about the game or tips, i mean if it's gonna take awhile to load and least give me something interesting to read in the meantime.
