I personally like character customization even if they don't really add too much to the story but you're right about the fanboys nit picking i read alot of fan reviews that ranged from ppl saying ME3 sucked to others saying it was the best one so you can't really take anybody else word over it you just gotta play them yourself and find out.

still, it feels weird they took the option away i keep trying to access it outta habit.

I love each of them in their own way, but if you haven't played 3 then I'm sure you heard everyone bitching about the ending, and they're totally justified. The combat system is definitely the most polished out of the three, and is fun as hell, but it's also unbalanced. It's just way too easy to make a character that's overpowered. Vanguard is fun in 3, but it's basically a god mode cheat. I played the entirety of the game on Hardcore and never really felt challenged the entire game. The only one that really felt like I wasn't just running through the game was the Soldier.

I would say it's the worst out of all three. The combat in 2 was just a blast, and the storyline of 1 was just so immersive, and, polish aside, 3 just never quite measured up to the other two in those areas.

I'm still not sure about MMOs, I hate relying on a server to play my games, nothing is more annoying than finally having an hour to play something only to find that's the time they've picked for server maintenance, or playing a particulary long mission when your internet gets a small hiccup and you're kicked back to the start screen.

The bosses aren't too much of a grind and the AI is really well done, like really well done, you won't have people standing in the open taking bullets to the face and when they go into hiding it's not to play whack-a-mole, they shift around and work together to try flank you. So you're not standing there trading bullets like robo-cop or waiting awkwardly for a head to pop up every 2 minutes, it's nicely balanced to keep you in the action and on your toes, if you find an ideal spot to shoot from you will have to fight to keep it, they'll branch out, flank or just rush you.

The classes however don't seem to change the dynamics all that much, the tanks don't really tank, the scouts don't scout and the wizards don't wizard, unless you're looking for specific abilities it seems classes are mostly an aesthetic concern.

Agreed. The versus multiplayer is well done. It feels like halo but fresher. Instead of running to pick up the best weapons you know go to pick up the ammo for your specific best weapons, if that makes sense. I thought this was a clever idea. If you've played halo at all the vehicles will feel right at home.

I can't get over how good the new Tomb Raider reboot is. I get the Uncharted comparisons(which frankly I think people are playing up a bit, it isn't that much like Uncharted) but this is still a beast on it's own.

Any die hard RE4 fans will see the influence immediately. You have one area that is this metallic, miner shantytown with enemies throwing dynamite at you which you can shoot at it blows up in their face. Never gets old. It also has a religous cult, feels very RE4 which warms my soul. I'm disappointed more critics didn't point this out.

The death animations are gnarly, again a la re4.

Have you played the multiplayer on Tomb Raider? I was hooked on it for a few months.

Also here are most of the death scenes wrapped into one. :thumb:

She always made this weird moaning sound when she died. It always made me laugh. I'm like you are supposed to be dying not getting off wtf.

Nah, I heard it was terrible. I'll check and see if anyone is playing. Only videogame critics would call the new lara craft character model "realistic" lol. Maybe compared to other pixelated females, but proportionally it's still distracting. I wouldn't care so much if she hadn't been promoted as the new down to earth lara. W/e the industry still has a ways to go in that regard..

DJ did you play the destiny beta for the 2 hours they added those new maps the other day? I was curious to see if they were any good. I already maxed out my character, started a new one, but like skyline said, feels virtually the same, pun intended.

djchameleon 07-21-2014 05:44 PM

No, I completely missed the Iron Banner. I was actually on when it started but had no clue where to go for it. I had just dinged level 6 to open up the Crucible. I was fine with her breast reduction. It wasn't that big of a deal to me like other gamers made it out to be.

Broke down and bought Mario Kart 8, mainly for the free Wind Waker HD that came with it.

Having a blast with Wind Waker, it's probably the best remaster I've ever played, the second screen adds a lot, and hero mode is nice (the game is too easy normally). Not to mention the dark souls-esque bottles, the fast sail, and the PURDY.

Mario Kart is mindless fun, but I'm more of a Forza guy (wish I had an XBONE for the new one).

Yeah, I've never played it but I love rpgs.

I have played Wild Arms 2 and 3 before though but never the first one.

Wild arms is a fun series, they add alot of cool stuff thats usually out of the ordinary for jrpgs. I always liked the wild west vibe too. I only ever played the one on ps2 but my brother used to play the first one all the time way back when, it looked cool.
