Every next gen console starts with a small game library but eventually it grows, if you get an old console you'll have a bigger game library but they won't add new games. The ps3 will eventually be left behind so i advice you to buy a next gen console cause it's a better long term investment.

Been playing Resident Evil 6 the last couple days. **** the fanboys. It's a pretty bitchin' third-person shooter, and I loves me some third-person shooters. They generally have a little something more going for them than the usual first-person shooters. Whether it be Mass Effect, Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, or whatever, they all seem to have something extra that makes them more than just "Point, Click, Shoot".
I was actually playing Halo 3 a while ago, and I really hadn't played any first-person shooters in forever, and yet I was still bored out of my mind after about twenty minutes. How I could have ever been entertained by something where the only options are either to fire a gun or to throw a grenade I don't know.

@Batlord
That's why i love fallout, it has both. Though they should fix up a little their 3rd person perspective cause it's hard to aim properly. What turns me off about fps games is the abundance of them, there is too many games like that already, if you look back at the N64 everybody welcomed Golden eye and luved it, and that's one of the most basic fps shooters ever, but back then fps were part of a bigger game library, it wasn't 80% fps games like it is now, games like Golden eye or the classic Doom, were rare fps that everybody loved not just fps gamers.

He would buy a PS4 beat Second Son then let his console collect dust until the next good game comes out which will be awhile. It is kind of weird that fanboys didn't like it because Resident Evil 6 was pretty much fan service trying to appeal to all the different fans.

Even if you have to wait a bit, Sony is moving forward with Ps4 not their old Ps3, think about long term cause that's why i said it, the ps4 is not some experimental console that will scraped out if it doesn't work, the ps4 will remain until there is a Ps5, investing in an old console is something you do if you can afford to waste money but if you can only afford 1 console you best make it a good one that is gonna be around and with an unknown potential that is yet to be established. a next gen console. And even if the Ps4 isn't backward compatible you can still buy Ps3, 2,1 games in it.

Also that is a crap idea especially if you already have physical copies of PS3 games. Also buying a dying console doesn't matter. So what if new games start deciding not to be made for the PS3. There is still a large library of older games to play that he hasn't played. Idk why that is hard for you to understand especially since you like playing retro games.

You'll hear about new games in next gen consoles and never play them, you have to keep up with the latest sh*t man or else who knows what you'll be missing out on and all you'll have is your old games that nobody is playing but you. Now, i ask you this, why do you have a Ps4 if you don't think is worth it to invest on it?

This advice is for someone that doesn't have disposable income to throw around like that. I did at the time so I got it. I wanted to be an early adapter but in his situation it makes sense to get a PS3 and get all the games he hasn't played. It is a more practical decision.

Fallout is pretty fantastic. My only problem with it is that, though the side mission's are far more in depth than Elder Scrolls, there are also far fewer of them, so there isn't nearly as much replay value. I don't think I ever actually played 3 more than once. I still need to play Vegas though.
