No no no, don't quit thinking it's a waste of time. You spent time bonding with your friends. It would be the same thing if you were out at some restaurant or pool hall bonding with them but it's just in a different setting.

These negative images associated with MMOs need to be put to a stop. It's not really that bad.

Yeah but the problem is I spend too much time on there when I should be doing productive things. Same as if I were spending too much time at a restaurant or pool hall!

Sounds like a time management concern on your part lol

Pick a certain time and stick with that nightly.

I only get on for raid times then the rest of the week is free for me to do whatever.

I stopped playing for a few months but I'm slowly getting back into it.

Haha yes it definitely is!

I find though it's the kind of game where you constantly have to be playing to be good. I used to only hop on for raid times but in-between all of the raid times my guild members were on getting better gear, more gold, learning professions, etc and I would gradually fall behind! I think you have to dedicate a lot of time to it to be a good player, in terms of getting good stuff, achievements, etc.

somewhat not true but yes the more you play you will be slightly better off. Only if you are having bad luck with getting raid drops. They have the system set up where if you are raiding with a team then you shouldn't need to be logged in more than your raid times to get gear that is competitive.

If you wanna just minimize, it might be a healthy attitude to consider yourself so good that you can scrape by with mediocre gear and still be super effective.

Yeah or just spend the season pvp'ing and doing LFR whenever you get the itch to raid. Maybe let someone else fill your raid spot.

debaserr 07-01-2013 07:36 AM

Once I went to PVP full time I never went back. I also never reacquired anything close to what a guild social environment was like on my own. Leaving my guild definitely neutered the game for me a bit.

djchameleon 07-01-2013 07:41 AM

my guild pvp together. we have rated bg nights which I never attend because I'm not that hardcore into pvp like that. I just show up for raid nights and we just recently start doing retro raid nights on Sunday nights but I wasn't in the mood to log in last night.

My guild sucks because I know most of them IRL. So even when I try to quit I just see my housemates playing it and want in! Haha. I'll see how I go :)
