I started playing Dead Rising this morning on my 360...does anyone know if there's a way to change the POV? I hate it and I'm having a really hard time controlling it. Of course, that could be my lack of hand/eye coordination I suppose...

I found an box with all my old PC games from when I was a wee lad and I have gotten nostalgia bus to memory lane with this one. Toonstruck, one of the few point-and-click adventure games that wasn't made by Lucasarts, but didn't suck because of it. Basically you play as a cartoonist (Christopher Lloyd) who gets trapped into your own cartoon world. Funny dialogue, good character development, and a decent story, all in all it creates a game that made my childhood a good place. |

I went on some kind of crazy used GameCube game buying spree in the past week and got a bunch of games, all of which I'm enjoying:
Metroid Prime—Love the atmosphere of this game. Rampage: Total Destruction—Searching online I found that this game got pretty bad reviews but I think it's really fun. I was a huge fan of the original and this is a great update of it. Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II—Another cool game. So far it's hard as hell but it's still pretty entertaining. Super Mario Sunshine—I haven't played this much yet but it seems pretty cool. I like the the fact that it departs significantly from the typical Mario settings. Super Monkey Ball 2—I have played this one all that much yet either but it's pretty entertaining. My wife and I were totally fixated on the target mini-game for a long time last night. Viewtiful Joe—Man is this game fun! It's one of those games I have trouble shutting off because it's so addictive. |

YouTube - Red Faction Guerrilla: Destruction (Game Trailer)
I downloaded the demo yesterday, very fun. What I like is that the destruction is there, but the game isn't all about "OMG blow up the buildings!" The gameplay actually gives you the choice. I played it a few times, the first time plowing through buildings in a giant armored car, the second time I used stealth and made and got to the objective without being seen and only killed about 2 people. The AI is also very fun to play against. When you start out, the enemy AI wont start attacking you unless you get too close to one of their bases or if you start shooting at them. The neutral AI can either help you or remain neutral. If you go out and steal on of their vehicles, or kill one of them, they will identify you as a thread and stay away from you. But I've found if you help them out by destroying the enemy faction that is controlling their city, they begin to help. The game does the open world thing so well, with so little frusteration and flaws that I often see in other open world games. |

i got a new pc last week and i've been going through 'dawn of war 2' at the moment. really liking it. it's a twist on the traditional RTS style, some might call it dumbed down since there's no base building or resource collecting but it makes the overall experience a lot closer to its source material (warhammer 40k).
it's the first game in a long time where i lose track of time and find myself staring at a clock 1-2 hours ahead of where i expect it to be. |
