Speaking of the Steam Sale, here's what I just picked up http://kleientertainment.com/wp-cont...a-boxart21.jpg Mark of the Ninja Same developers who made the kind of mediocre sidescroller beat 'em up Shank, this is a game for stealth enthusiasts. What sold me was the art style though, which is very reminiscent of the amazing cartoon series Samurai Jack. It also features some of the best stealth gameplay I've seen since the Thief series, with an easy to navigate GUI that always makes you aware of how visible and how much sound you're making. The levels are sprawling, which allows for multiple paths ranging from 100% stealth to stealth takedowns. I've just started playing, but I can definitely say that this was worth the $11 from the Steam sale. |
Slightly off topic but I just bought an xbox controller for windows. I imagine this will increase my Steam based gaming hours. Looking forward to finally finishing Super Meat Boy, of which I have played entirely on the keyboard so far.

Dayvan Cowboy, is mother 3 a sequel to earthbound?

I finally went ahead and re-bought a PS2 (my old fell victim to the dreaded Disc Read Error) and it came with Crash Bandicoot, which I've been playing through just for nostalgia and fun.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...coot_Cover.png I can't wait to revisit all of my old favorite PS & PS2 games though. |
I bought New Mario U for Xmas day :)

I've never been all that into Nintendo so I wouldn't have gotten it either way, but I've heard mostly negative things about the new console. |

this is kinda long (about a 5 part review), but I think this guy did the most coherent and detailed review of the Wii U that I've seen. he points out where it's strengths lie and where it could improve, but overall it's pretty positive and it makes me want a Wii U now. I picked up Torchlight 2 this weekend, it's way more fun than Diablo 3 for me.

Really? I found the gameplay to be loads of fun but by god is the story ever painful. One goal that has constantly moved on by the time you reach it is not the way to keep me invested. I mean for the money, art style, and non intrusive DRM I think Torchlight II is a great game, but the story just bugged me and eventually made me stop playing. Then again it's been months since I've touched Diablo III so I dunno what that says about that game.
Anyhow I finally bought an internal hard drive for my Xbox 360 and started playing this little wonder. http://images.wikia.com/yogscast/ima...ltale_Logo.png The Walking Dead by TellTale Games It's been winning a lot of awards lately and for good reason, this is one of the most compelling games I have ever played that actually manages to do do the whole "moral choice" system right, by dropping the whole "moral" part. The game is nothing but shades of grey, with your actions affecting characters you really grow to love, particularly the female lead, Clemintine, an 8-year old girl who is probably one of the best fictional child characters. She's headstrong, resourceful, hopeful, and you feel compelled to protect her, no matter what cost. It's also one of the few games that has actually made me cry, with a stellar cast of characters and interpersonal conflicts it's a shining testament to what the medium is capable of and deserves every award it gets. Do not miss this one. If my little review did convince you to buy it, DO NOT buy the retail copy in stores, it's poorly optimized and the lag will make the game virtually unplayable because of the nature of the quick-time event action pieces. |
