yeah, same here. I really want to try it though cause it looks AWESOME.

We should setup some kind of MB co-op fest. Which one of us has the best pc/connection? Fiber Op would be ideal for hosting the server (I've only got base DSL). Apparently we only need to be 3 players minimum to launch the mode.

not a bad idea, although I do NOT have the internet required for good enough server hosting. but yeah, if we can find more people, that'll be awesome.

Slender

First-Person indie game based on the Slender-man mythos meme thing that I don't really know much about. What I do know is that this game's programmers know how to do horror. Basically you're just in a fenced off forest area and you have to try and recover 8 manuscripts that give you some insight into the slender-man character, as he slowly stalks you through the dark and scary woods.

Oh, and it's free!

played a bunch of freeware games last night. for those who don't know, Freeware games are indie-made games that are released for free online, and pretty simple to find and download through something like Google. so yeah, some games I played

Treasure Adventure Game
http://media.indiedb.com/images/game...ag_box_art.png
-one of the best free games I've played in a while. I would liken this to Cave Story(more or less the godfather of this generation of indie games) in that it's much more than what meets the eye, although Cave Story has a more interesting narrative than TAG. Still, like Cave Story, TAG has a very nice and unique visual style, some GREAT music, and a very Metroidvania style that favors exploration and backtracking to complete goals. Not to mention that the game is MASSIVE for an indie: after about 4 or 5 hours I'm only 20% of the way done. Only issue I have though is that it's on the buggier side, so yeah.

Noitu Love
http://www.destructoid.com/elephant/...u2jpg-550x.jpg
-I played the sequel, Noitu Love 2: Devolution, which i absolutely LOVED(Noitu Love 2: Devolution on Steam -just watch the trailer), so I had some high hopes for the original game. Sadly I felt that the controls were kind of stiff and after about 5 minutes of fighting the same enemies, I just sort of quit out. I did like the evolution aspect though and thought it had some potential to add some good variety, but I didn't get too far before I decided that this game wasn't to my liking. I may come back to this at some point, but for now it was kind of eh.

Flywheel
-A game with some interesting mechanics. This is a pretty challenging game at points that more of less wants you to memorize the sequence of a stage to progress.

Spelunky
http://media.teamxbox.com/dailyposts/spelunky.jpg
-a randomly generating dungeon crawler. pay heed, this game is HARD, you will die pretty easily just from the way the level was randomly generated. still a fun little game. I'll probably come back to it soon.

Jumper
-a really simple concept put into some really tricky and challenging stages. for all you hardcore platformer fans out there.

Passage
http://elit.umwblogs.org/files/2012/03/passage.jpg
-This is a game about life. no, seriously it is. I don't want to spoil it for you but I will say that A) it's really short(like 5 min) so playing it more than once is suggested to really get the meaning of it, and B) depending on where you are with your life this may really resonate with you, especially with how you approach this. If you're of the ilk that feels that games can be art, then play this if you haven't already.

Unknown Soldier 08-21-2012 01:19 PM

Just started Deux Ex Human Revolution last night, previously had it about 6 months ago and didn't like it and so got rid of it, WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING! Bought it second hand last week and giving it another go and hell its a classic.

well, the combat is not that compelling, maybe that's cos I chose a "Soldier" template?

i really wish the space war strategy elements played a larger part

the RPG isn't as non-linear as I wanted, most of your responses lead to the same result, you can make some choices, but it doesn't affect the war with the Reapers much

and the side-quests? sheesh - go there, fetch this and bring it back

the squad tactics are also a bit too limited for my liking - i mean, i'm not expecting Rainbow Six, but at least something more than just "move" and "attack"

a real comedown after the beautiful "Skyrim"
