The reason why I'm not heavy into first person shooter games are well most of it is repetitive in one way or the other..especially Call of Duty :/
We need a fresh breathe of air ..something brand new..I think Borderlands became such a big hit mainly because it brought something different to the table. (the graphics perhaps)

The Medal of Honor that got bad reviews was not all that bad. It wasn't close to MW or COD, but it was a decent shooter. The new one looks great and has received really good reviews.

i'm thinking of making either Gears of War 3, MW3 or Bioshock 2 as my 3rd purchase

what would you recommend?

Bioshock 2 but that's only if you have Bioshock 1 or played it.
I recently picked up Mw3 and i pretty much regret it :/ i wish i could take it back but i can't find the receipt.

Started playing League of Legends. I'm an old school DotA fan and this game is exactly what I needed. WoW was killing me slowly. Love the hell out of this game, and the systems its using (runes, masteries, Influence points).
