Get a PS3.

I prefer 360 because I like the interface more (you have to exit out to the main menu on a PS3 to do anything really).

Then again, I haven't had a console other than Wii for 3+ years.

but yeah, been playing this game Noitu Love 2: Devolution. it's a side-scrolling beat-em up reminiscient of alot of Sega Genesis games where you primarily use keyboard and mouse, and while that doesn't sound optimal for this type of game, it actually works incredibly well.

Since you didn't respond to my last post, why exactly are you getting a 360? Seems to me the PS3 would be a better fit for you.

can be modded to play pirated games?

I don't know about the pirate games thing, but neither of the systems have better graphics, they go back and forth on a per game basis.

PS3 has blu-ray. I know you own a PS2, so I think you'd like PS3 exclusives more than 360. Usually the one thing 360 has going for it is the Xbox live thing, and you said you weren't big on multiplayer gaming (plus PSN is free online). It's up to you though.

Not playing anything at the moment... been thinking about restarting the whole Mass Effect trilogy.
