What's your other two games?

Well, particularly for the Hitman series and the Metal Gear Solid series. I have other games for the PS2, but those three titles are the crowned jewels for me. I don't have a PS3 or Xbox, and do all my current gaming on PC, so the PS2 is sort of a relic that I have just a few sentimental titles to keep it around for.

yeah, you wouldn't believe how much i've gotten for a hat, like multiple weapons for one. with the weapons, you'll usually get a backpack full of weapons after the first 10 hours of playing (unless you buy something in the store, then your backpack increases up to 6x's)

Wait... you traded a hat away for some weapons?

Then, before the release of The Witcher 2, I saw the enhanced version of the first game was on a special offer on gog.com. Many aspects, including dialogues, are polished and so I thought I'd give it a try. I have to say the game has aged though and I'm not positive I'm going to find the motivation to play through it.

Even if you started with the Enhanced Edition the original Witcher was hard to get into and had a rather steep learning curve for its style, especially the combat. Though the different combat stances and techniques were rather cool once you got used to it. Then you had to deal with the fact that the first few chapters of the game seem to drag on forever and it becomes really easy to lose track and focus on what's going on due to too many overlapping shades of grey.

The Enhanced Edition for The Witcher 2 is supposed to be released next month as well, if you want to try adventuring with Geralt within a more typical RPG game. The scope is more focused and the combat has been revamped to a more typical streamlined method.

Not all hats are worth $$$. Especially if you just have a bunch of common pieces. Apparently the earbuds and whatever Bill's Hat is are where the money is at.

Come to think of it... with almost 300 hours in the game the ONLY hats I've ever gotten from drops are from holiday events.

I'll play a bit more and see if I feel motivated. If I don't feel like playing through it, I guess I'll just read up on the story and go straight to the second game.

Even the worst hats in the game are worth 1-2 Refined Metal, as two hats can be smelted together to create a new, random hat. Just 1 Refined Metal takes 3 Reclaimed Metal to smelt, and 1 Reclaimed metal requires 3 Scrap Metal. Each Scrap Metal requires two weapons.

So in terms of weapons, even the crappiest hats are worth 18-36 weapons. This of course depends on what type of weapons we're talking about. I'm excluding weapons that are relatively new (released in an update in the last couple weeks), vintage weapons, and strange weapons, all of which are worth a bit more than "normal" weapons.

Planning on getting Journey tomorrow. I love thatgamecompany's Flower, and this one is said to be even better.

yeah, that was back when i was still a noob with trading. at the same time though, I did get a bunch of killer stuff.

at the same time though, even though you could statistically get any random (regular) weapon randomly, there's always those weapons that will elude your grasp for the longest time, and sometimes you just want it then and there.

On this note I would have given just about anything to get a vanilla Homewrecker after I accidentally traded mine a while back. Took me about a week to randomly score a replacement, it felt so wrong to spy check and help defend engies without it.
