It's a new iteration of the Starsiege:Tribes franchise though they've obviously dropped the Starsiege side of things. I really enjoyed that classic giant robot game, played way faster than Mechwarrior but Tribes never really grabbed me.

The really novel thing with T:A is the movement. It's essentially all about skiing and jetpacks. Either that sounds awesome to you or GTFO! of the game. It's intended to be a free to play class based team shooter... but the default classes you start with are so similar that it doesn't really work. Yet. Most CTF matches turn into a weird twist on their TDM mode where one player from each team circles the map at ~200km/h so the other side can't score a point.

It's definitely worth keeping tabs on, especially for people getting bored with the typical 'gritty realism' of modern shooters.
I feel bad, I got into the beta and never used it.

Me wants what me cant haves.

I just discovered Quake Live...which is basically Quake 3 Arena for free through my browser. It's a nostalgia trip for sure.

Eh. I guess it depends. I'm watching my roommate play through for his first time, and he picked a stealth/archery build, which seems to be a pretty popular one. Looks really fun, but he has a lot of trouble fighting dragons and big groups of enemies. I'm a two-handed bash-the-****-outta-you guy, so nothing was ever particularly hard for me in Skyrim, especially once I grinded Smithing and Enchanting up to 100.

Smithing and enchanting at max is certainly powerful and a bit of a game changer as it makes just about all the loot you'll get suckier than what you can craft yourself. As such, it removes some of the pleasure from the game, I think.

Ah like you I'm a two handed bash the opponent type player and use just warhammers.

I never finished Earthbound actually. I like the game a lot, but the fights eventually became quite tedious I think. I felt that way when I played FFVI f.ex as well, but somehow I managed to push through and finish that one.

Recently finished Uncharted 3. Have to say I was rather underwhelmed.
In my opinion, it doesn't hold a candle to the second instalment.

The story telling is rather poor in comparison, and it tries to hard to fit in as many returning Uncharted features as possible, except with the multi-player, which has been transformed into COD in third person. A terrible decision, as it will never take away any of the market from Call Of Duty, so why try and emulate something you will never be able to replicate the success of?
