It's pretty early to tell, but it looks like far cry with zombies in it. I like that guns are extremely rare and powerful, and how realistic the limb-dismembering is.
Zombies does not mean a game has to be cheesy.

And i don't hate fun. And an electric machete sounds awesome. But I thought the game was supposed to be more realistic. That's what I was hoping for. A realistic first person melee zombie game.

And you said it looks like Far Cry. That could be part of the reason I dislike the gameplay. I've started Far Cry 2, twice, and both times I've been bored after about an hour.

Far Cry 2 sucked cause the controls were bad and because it didn't have zombies in it. Dead Island looks sick to me.

Realism in video games sucks. Case in point, GTA IV as opposed to San Andreas
