Because I have the hookup at my local Gamestop (that I am probably getting a job at), here's how I got my Black Ops.

Went in to trade in Fable 3 and Red Faction: Guerrilla + money for Black Ops.
My friend that works there wanted RF:G and said that the store would pay me two dollars for it, but he would give me five out of his pocket. And I said that's cool.

When he rings up Fable 3 he said "I'm sorry that your copy of Fable 3 didn't work, sir. I'll gladly give you another game for it." and without trading in Guerrilla, the store owed me five dollars, which I put towards my Dead Space 2 pre-order.

I let him have RF:G for free, because he's my friend, he helped me out with that and is possibly getting me a job there.

This concludes the story of how I got Black Ops.

Lame story aside, I've been enjoying Black Ops. Story is pretty cool (not on par with COD4, imo.) But the multiplayer and the Zombies + Dead Ops modes all make it worth it. I can dig it.

Even if FFVI lasts longer, you may have more fun putting the same amount of hours into A Link to the Past and completing it several times, I feel.

Don't get me wrong, FF VI was brilliant and it's a game I love. But I think that more than a great story, FFVI had a lot of story. If you played it again, you'd see that there were a lot of clichès, the dialogues were embarassingly bad at worst and so on. It was good, but not all of that was genious.

Anyways, it was more than good enough actually. The biggest problem with FFVI is that the gameplay and all the random encounters in the game simply didn't stay interesting for the amount of time it took to complete the game. When A Link to the Past was fun to play from start to end, in FFVI, I got really tired of the game and oh-so-boring random encounters long before I even approached the end. I think I finished the game on my third attempt. The first two attempts, I just got too bored. The story and stuff was fun, but again, it couldn't quite make up for all that tedious combat ..

So for me, A Link to the Past > Final Fantasy VI

Actually, I consider A Link to the Past the best (most entertaining) SNES game I've ever played and I've played all the big ones, including all rpg titles like secret of Mana, Breath of Fire 1 and 2 or Chrono Trigger. Hence, I don't really agree that it's overrated. If you want entertainment from an SNES, it's the safest bet in my opinion.
Hmm I'm not sure you'd appreciate JRPG's in general then, cause I always enjoyed the combat.

Anyways I was speaking specifically of the FF's on PS. Fair enough though, to see that Zelda is more appreciated then FF.

In Japan it'd be a totally different story.

That's an event in the game.
Not the fact that a game is announced.

I'm just talking for the sake of talking, however.
I love both series for different reasons, and I never thought they were really comparable as they're different kinds of games.

I love both of the series for different reasons.

I compared because they were the two killer app series on the N64 and PS I guess.

Oh, and for clarification purposes. PS > N64

PS > N64 is true.
Although, N64 had some of my favorite games ever. Super Smash Bros., Kirby 64, Super Mario 64, etc.

PS just had MORE classics.

Pretty much sums it up.

For all my fanboyism though, I'll admit one thing about that generation

Multiplayer-wise, N64 was definitely better then the PS. But PS had it beat on quantity and variety of genres. I can't think of a decent RPG on the N64.

Harvest Moon? Seriously that game is awesome, especially on the 64.
