See, I always hated getting run through by higher levels because I don't get that experience of doing it in a group with others around my level and being able to learn my class better through my own experience of doing in a group that is struggling to get through the dungeon together. I learn my position better to like where to stand and not stand. I think you should head into an instance alone and get paired up in the random dungeon finder...plus you get blue quality low level gear also for doing it upon completion of the dungeon.

Yeah, use the dungeon finder to get experience. If you're the weak link of the group, at least it's a random group with people from different realms.
If you fear that you're not gonna do well, you could of course just be honest and tell them you don't have much experience. I couldn't get in any raid groups to Icecrown Citadel before Cataclysm because my gear score wasn't quite high enough and I had no experience with the dungeon. So, instead of asking people if I could come along, I just started my own raid and told them I was an ICC newb. The raid members shared their experience, told me the important tactics and we had a blast. Although people tend to be less friendly in pick-up-groups, the idea that only pimple-squeezing jerk-offs play wow is not true.

Thanks for the advice, guys I'm so glad that there are MB-ers who are WoW-knowledgeable, I'm too scared to even hop on the Blizzard forums whenever I have a question or anything! Especially being a girl in the game, guys (who seem to make up more of the WoW population) can be complete asses; I wish I had've made a male character ha!
djchameleon, I agree completely, which is why I want to do an instance properly, rather than have my housemate run me through them. He was really excited when I started playing and he's like "I'll run you through some instances and get you some good stuff" so I just went with it, but like you said I really want to actually play the game myself! Maybe I'll just take the plunge and find a random group, just say at the beginning, 'look guys, just letting you know I'm a bit of a noob to WoW and to instances, feel free to give me direction or constructive criticism if need be....' Thanks for all the info, tore! You rock |

Not sure if it's better or not cause I haven't played GT yet (and, based on older GT games, I bet it's pretty awesome), but Forza is fantastic. Highly recommended if you're into racing games.
Oh and my cousin worked on Forza, so I'd be lying if I was saying I'm impartial to the GT vs Forza debate. |
