I must say I preferred Vice City, but in Multiplayer the huge world of SA is brilliant.

Best GTA yet has to be GTA IV. I love that.

I played too much 3 and Vice City. by the time SA came out, I was pretty much over it.

Vice City was good, but SA was the great leap forward IMO. The GTA peak in storytelling, setting, gameplay, music, atmosphere, and nostalgia for me.

I was unimpressed with GTA IV. It was a step backward I thought.


I thought SA introduced enough new stuff to keep me interested and I played a ton of the other two as well.

Oh, no. With GTA IV I thought I was actually taking part in a movie. It totally sucked me in.
I also liked the characters more. I never really liked the nigga from the hood character in games ;).

I thought the GTA IV storyline took itself too seriously. That's not what GTA is about. It should be wacky and over the top, not that dreaded word, "realistic"

GTA IV sucked... It was a huge step back, story wise. I liked the length and story of San Andreas, it's also fun, but it does get boring eventually. Vice City was good to, but GTA III is the turd of the series.

Just got this, much better than Fallout 3. I'm about 4-5 hours in and no sign of putting the controller down yet, great game.

when it came out GTA 3 was like nothing else out there. it spawned countless knockoffs. of course it's the worst GTA game, they incrementally improved the games.

Agreed. Anyone who tries to make that claim obviously played it after the games that were so influenced by it. It truly was the great leap forward in GTAs.

San Andreas > Vice City > III > IV

I still liked IV though.
