The shooting controls are just all messed up. It'd be much better if you could use both joysticks to control your guy but you can't. Not to mention the little bit of the story I played is bad. I'm playing it just for acheivments.

Well, that's what you get for playing an FPS style game on a console I guess. Fallout 3 is an excellent game, but if you don't like it even after getting out of the vault and looking at the capitol wasteland stretching out before you, I doubt you're gonna "get into it" later on!

i got SO angry during that first one, at one point (apparently at the start of the final area) i ended up starting the map and standing next to something that goes boom, which ends up happening while someone's message is being displayed on screen (as in - within seconds of loading the map). so while i was reading a mini-briefing of my final mission i got blown up. considering the game saves before loading a new map i figured it would just start the area over again. it didn't. i'm still pissed about it. as for Fallout3 i played it on PS3 without any hassles at all (the dual analog controls work like any other FPS). if you're just trying to play it like a generic shooter and for achievements only that's your own problem and self imposed limitation - you're choosing to miss the entire point of that game. |

but yeah the DLC was a mess, worse still was the region locking conflicts between the original and game of the year edition. the original F3 copies shipped to Canada were 'US' versions, so when it came to carrying over your save to the GotY to play the 'fixed' DLC you were screwed since all of a sudden there was a distinction between US and Canadian copies. yeah. it sounds as absurd as it turned out. gamers were left with a choice, either play through the whole thing again, or buy a copy on ebay. i've also got a copy of F3 for my pc (the ps3 is my roommate's). i've had FAR more hassle with the pc version than the ps3. the last time i bothered trying to play it the game would crash to the desktop while loading my most recent save. |
