i recently got caught up in Burnout: Paradise. great game! it's an open world like GTA, with all the classic burnout races. tons of great cars to unlock.

half the fun is just driving around at top speed and going over jumps or power-sliding around corners. lots of 'collectibles', like hundreds of billboards to smash through and gates to crash - get them all to unlock more cars.

races, road rage events, and stunt runs start at intersections. there are also 'best time' records for every street to beat. tons to do.

Awesome game, what platform did you get it for?

In the part where you have to get past the gate and into the monastery towards the end of the game; after the cutscene what do you do? I have no idea how to get over/around the gate.
uh...
could you be more specific?

theres lots of gates you gotta climb around. Just look for like blocks and objects that stand out a little and mash x.

awesome...my xbox crapped out on me and i don't have the time or patience to send it in to get it fixed. orange box kicked ass though...half life 2 has one of the best sci fi storylines i've ever seen. its going to be frustrating when the final episode comes out and my xbox still won't work to play it.

It's after the cutscene where Elena says "just keep it subtle". It's after the truck rooftop battle, and they just spotted Schaefer. Now they have to get into the monastery but the gate is locked.

Ordered Skate 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour a couple of days ago .. I would be very happy if the bastards could send it already!

Until I get those, I'm playing GTA Episodes from Liberty City which is of course two expansions or continuating stories for GTA IV. One is The Lost and Damned which is about about a biker, John, from the Lost and Damned biker gang which is okay. The other is the Ballad of *** Tony in which you are *** Tony's business partner (aka "muscle"). Tony is a night club owner and a bit of a junkie, so it's vaguely about the nightlife in Liberty City.

The big difference between them aside from story I would say is that the Ballad of *** Tony is a little more creative with the missions and so is a little more fun. You fly a lot more choppers for sure.

any particular reason you chose World Tour (part4) over GH5?

Yeah, we got a couple of guitars and microphones from the Lips game which I'm guessing will be compatible with World Tour, so I could get just the game without instruments (I don't care much for game drums anyways) and that was very cheap. Guitar Hero 5 is still a bit more pricy, but I'll probably get that as well eventually.

ah dude, video game drums are where it's AT hahaha.

and that's a sensible move in terms of waiting until the games drop in price. but don't hold your breath on a cheap gh:metallica. i settled at $45 used
