The Last of Us 2 was one of the best media experiences I've ever had an I've been weighing going back for a replay even though I don't like doing that too much too soon because replaying something too soon leaves me feeling bored even if I had an amazing experience. I need time.

So, I started playing No Mans Sky for the exploration aspect. The controls are a little clunky and I'm having issues figuring out all the complex ways to use minerals to repair different things but I'm sure I'll get it soon.

currently reinstalling Mass Effect: Legendary Edition.

feel like having another round of this absolutely amazing trilogy.

incidentally, i think Legendary Edition has one of the best reveal trailers ever.

I really only remember liking ME2. ME1 had some great ideas that needed to be refined, it was kinda wonky. And ME3's ending, at least the original one, left a sour taste for the whole game.

i was never bothered by Mass Effect 3's ending.

i enjoyed enough of the game that it simply didn't ruin the experience for me.

What was it about it that hooked you? Because to me, the gameplay usually felt like a slightly clunkier Gears of War. The amount of choice allowed and the way that would alter the story is what made me dig it.

the story and varied gameplay was the thing i loved.

not only did combat change based on your choice of class, but specific cutscenes could also change depending on your morality

hell, even certain squad members can live or die based purely on your choices.

Same. I immediately thought of replaying it and then I was like let me replay the first game and get the full experience and relive that simpler narrative that made Ellie and Joel such sympathetic characters in the first place, but then I just needed something less heavy.

I played the first when it came out but sold my 360 and missed the rest. Then a buddy gave me he his old console along with the first two games and I had probably the most obsessive gaming experience of my entire life playing the entire trilogy in a little over a week. I lived and breathed Mass Effect and barely slept or ate. Then I replayed all of them again, then did it again, all probably in less than a month.

Never had the DLC though so Legendary Edition was a great excuse to do it all again and do what I'd missed, but I'd just played the games to death by that point and as a completionist who has to do everything and get every upgrade it's been a slog. Mass Effect 2 rules but the mining is the worst part of all the games.

Mass Effect 2 is absolutely my favourite of the original trilogy.

my current playthrough (still in Mass Effect 1) is a Paragon, Vanguard FemShep.

also, since you never played the DLC, i'm guessing you never met one of my favourite ME2 squadmates, a man called Zaeed Massani (R.I.P Robin Sachs).

Operencia is the god damn ****. 1st person, grid map, party-based dungeon crawler with immaculate vibe and atmosphere. I love me some Etrian Odyssey but the battle system stands out more than the actual dungeons and this game brings that **** to life. The sound design is extra immersive and low key kinda scurry too.
