The Surge 2 I watched about an hour of gameplay for this a year or so ago and never actually picked the game up for myself, it's on GamePass, so I went ahead a got it. It's got a mixture of somewhat Dark Souls mechanics with shortcuts and focused combat. The gameplay overall is fun, and there's potential for upgrades etc etc. The combat is super satisfying, and you upgrade your character by cutting off limbs and finding schematics for the armor the enemies are wearing. Really neat way to do it, and it makes killing the same enemies again worth it, since you have to kill them again when you die. I recommend. |

Looking at the trailer now, it's possible it's more fun to play it with someone else. As a solo game, it's an ok puzzle platformer, mostly about solving puzzles and jumping around, no fights or anything. The puzzles are ok, if you get stuck there is help so it doesn't ever get very frustrating. There were additional levels but it didn't really attract me enough to play them. Graphics are ok. There was some kind of a story going on in the background, couldn't figure out what it was about, seemed like ghosts of kids, not sure if family or friends, mostly in some kind of negative situations so not sure if this is some kind of healing after trauma game or what. It was mostly lost on me. Let's say 3.5/5. Moving on to Tearaway unfolded. Media molecule games are so creative (creators of Little big planet 1 and 2). I'm a little hesitant to get Dreams because it seems centered on creating, which they started with in LBP but I never used that feature since I'm not creative at all. Hmmm...

Anybody else had analog drift problems with their PS4 controllers? I'm pretty pissed because I bought my PS4 about a year ago and BOTH controllers now have this problem. ONE YEAR. I tried the reset, pressing down and twirling the sticks, nada. I'm gonna take it to the Sony store but I absolutely can't believe the shoddy craftmanship on this. Plenty of people are reporting the problem and it seems the solution would be to just buy a new one? Huh?? Every year I'm gonna buy a new bloody controller??

Never have the means of production been in such dire need of seizing.

Speaking of Nintendo, anyone have an opinion on Switch? It looks cool and might actually offer more arcade games which PS4 seems to be sorely lacking.
