Like I'll continue to buy Assassin's Creed games cause they do cool **** like ancient Greece or the Viking age but God damn do I wish there was another company making those games that didn't suck ass.

Tiberium Wars is solid, but there's nothing like mod'ing up some Red Alert on PC. I had a WinXP box with a bunch of those, like the Reloaded one.
I'm watching the Netflix series High Score right now and it's really giving me the nostalgia blues.

For me it is. I grew up with all of it, starting with Pong and have owned every console from that to Xbox. The only thing they didn't cover was Intellivision, which was huge. I'm actually watching it a second time with a friend who hasn't seen it.

So for any fans of horror games (e.g. Batlord), I just downloaded a new one recently that somehow slipped under my radar called 'Visage'. I've only just completed the first chapter, and I already can't recommend it enough. It caught my attention as someone mentioned to me that it's in essence a spiritual successor to Silent Hills (PT Demo - never released as a full game). So far, this game is everything I had hoped that game would be and more.
For context, my first horror game was Resident Evil 2 on the PS1 as a young boy. From there, I've played almost all of the famous ones - Silent Hill series, Resident Evil series, Outlast, Alien Isolation, Condemned, Blair Witch, Layers of Fear, Dead Space, Slender, Amnesia, etc. And like I said, I've only completed the first chapter - but this is already EASILY the scariest game I've ever played. I've got to talk to myself out loud to reduce my stress levels because they're so ****ing high. Normally, I'm not too phased by horror games - I'm used to the tropes and sterotypes that this genre employs. But this game gets to me, and it lets my imagination and fear do most of the work, without resorting to cheap jump scares. Before this game, I would've considered Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Silent Hill 2 as the most frightening horror games, but this game is in a different league entirely. If you like horror games, and have an Xbox One, PS4, or a PC that can handle it, I implore you to give this game a try. You won't regret it. I think it's the only game that comes with a Player Discretion warning because of disturbing images and sequences and it's not kidding. Try playing it in the dark, alone, with headphones on. Go on, I dare you. |

Also that download of Ori was a bust because when I was buying my Intel NUC it never occured to me that I would need a stronger set up to play games, it kept trying to load it until I googled minimum requirements and I don't have them! such a dumbass. Now I'm trying Fall guys (and actually paid a PSN subscription because of it, what a gyp) and Unravel 2, neither one of which makes me crazy. I also pretty much gave up on The last of us (I guess I'm just not into horro zombie stuff). Sigh. It's all down hill after God of War and Rayman legends.
