Remake is great but nerveracking as all hell. The medical wing in Alien Isolation is still my gold standard for nope nope nope not going a step further. I tried it immediately after smoking a bowl once and I think I almost had a panic attack.

For what it's worth, I like Resident Evil 0 almost as much as I like REmake. The big difference being that I played Resident Evil 0 during high school when I had to take mental health days off from high school. In fact, I was the first one to upload an S-ranked speedrun on Hard mode to Youtube - I think at some point I made the videos private (probably when I was reaching out to other Youtubers when I didn't want my identity to be tied to Resident Evil speedruns). Either way, both are great games. Finally, after years of trying in my younger years, I completed the "invisible" mode on REmake on the PS4 - quite a nervewracking experience indeed. |

Really digging Cyberpunk. Probably the best RPG I've played since Skyrim.

I'm gonna see if it goes on sale for Christmas but I'll drop $60 if I have to.

There's a few bugs and glitches, so it may be worth waiting for a few patches before purchasing anyway. Doesn't ruin the experience though imo, beautiful game and personally I really enjoy the combat. The fact the game can go from MGS levels of stealth to total hack and slash based on your build is pretty rad.

Also enjoying it. It's no revolutionary title but it is a great synthesis of a lot of elements that have come before. I felt similarly about BOTW, a game I adored.
The story, voice acting and writing is stellar. The visuals are really good if you have a decent PC (you need a SSD). And the combat / progression systems are pretty compelling. On the other hand, the AI is pretty hit or miss. The default settings are just bad in some places, IE: they have joystick accel on by default, which makes the first car oversteer badly in my experience. Think this will keep me busy for a while. I am also pretty confident they will polish it up and add some good DLC. And after that there is going to be an online mode, I wonder what they will do with that. BTW Cyberpunk has no DRM so if you know how to look etc.

Downloaded a few games from PSN, gave Journey a try because it's so highly rated. After about 30 minutes got bored, seems kind of aimless. Lack of narration and discernible point is a minus for me. Maybe I'll get back to it at some point. It's quite short apparently.
Now trying to download Ori and the will of the wisps from Steam. I think it will take a few days at this speed (50kbs?? What is this, 2001?) I really don't understand why there aren't 50 games like this on PS4. It's so hard to find good arcades (that don't look like they beamed in from 1984).

Octopath Traveler
I have been wanting to pick this up for a couple of months now, and I finally decided to do that last night. Coincidentally they were having a sale on it, so even better. To be fair, I would've easily paid full price. I've gotten about 3 hours into the game, and I can safely say that this is one of the best experiences I've had in an RPG since DOS2. The music is fantastic, the combat is fluid and fun, the voice acting is a little bit cringe worthy, but the overall story / stories make up for it. If you have a Switch, pick this up. And I'd honestly say it's worth buying a Switch for. |

And speaking of RPGs I picked up Persona 4 Golden when it came to Steam but never booted it up until today. You practically have to get through a long movie’s worth of dialogue and worldbuilding before you actually play the game but thankfully the opening to the story is excellent and I’m really enjoying it now that it’s gotten moving. My only other Persona game before now was 5 on PS4 which I loved to death, so I’m excited to dig into this one deeper
