I used to play fighting games (including Tekken) pretty seriously with a couple friends now and then. But these days, we pretty much stick to board games.
Now, I only really play video/computer games with my brother. For the last many months, we've pretty much been sticking to taking turns with some single player PC games. A couple days ago, we managed to finish Leisure Suit Larry 3. http://larrylaffer.net/images/screen...SL3%200200.jpg I think playing through all of these various single player games together is more fun than playing versus. Leaves plenty of room to sit and talk about things while playing. We're also in the middle of completing Unreal, Jill of the Jungle and Leisure Suit Larry 5. |
Co-op Halo is still the standard tbh.

We did play some co-op halo back in the day. Halo Reach and 4 to be specific. Neither of us are really that into shooters anymore, but I've completed many on my own back in my first handful years of having a 360.

OG Halo was probably the first real co-op game that wasn't some kind of Contra **** though I remember and OG Halo co-op still holds up today.

Just picked up Bayonetta 2 on the Switch. Why can't all games just be this?
Gonna get so many stares on the bus whenever I do one of her glorious naked finishers on a boss. |

Finally a F2P BR I want to try: Apex Legends.
Made by EA. This is what the Titanfall 3 was cannibalized into. Will report back with findings. |

That reminds me that I need to pick the first Bayonetta back up. Might do that in a bit.

Heroes of Steel

Played an hour of this RPG and it's pretty interesting so far. It's completely linear, it seems, with turn based tactical battles where you move around on squares like in an old school war strategy game. I vastly prefer this to JRPG style combat, so this game is basically giving me something I've been wanting for years: JRPG style structure, but with finite enemy encounters and deeper combat. No more pointlessly recurring spam fights! Still, I don't know how this game will evolve over time, but so far, having just been through the arduous escape from the starting dungeon, it's pretty neat. Although the entirely top-down graphics are a tad on the dull side. But that suits me ok. I like dry dad-RPGs! The kind where you sit and stroke your beard, sip from your coffee cup and agonize over the many possible moves you could make. |
